A cute little hotel near the beach with a few little must knows.
First and foremost, try to figure out your parking ahead of your arrival time. The parking at the hotel is not free. There are public parking places around the hotel and are substantially cheaper than the hotel. Thus, do your research ahead of time and don’t fall for the up-sale like I did. Secondly, when you get to your room, check the food and drink items on the dresser by the TV. Make sure that none of the items have been previously opened and/or eaten. We didn’t check and found a bottle of water opened and partially consumed. Lesson learned. And last but not least, if you venture down the path to the lower gate to go to the beach and pier, remember that you will have to go up the side street to the top/front gate to get back in. Only the residents that live in the gated community have a key to enter through the lower gate.
Beyond the previous, it is a cute somewhat rustic hotel. And there is a plethora of restaurants and the famous Santa Monica pier in walking distance from the hotel as well.
