The good, property was in a good location. But, that is all that was good. Room had a smell to it, amd it was not clean at all. The shower was in an old awful jetted tub that was very difficult to get in and out of. A definite liability issue, so unsafe. The air conditioner worked, but was so loud and clanked and clammered the entire time it was on. No kleneex in room, no soap, and not enough toilet paper to make it through our very short one night stay. When we asked for more toilet paper the staff acted like we were a problem and said we should have had plenty. We couldn't check out of this place fast enough. Super disappointing.

The property was very "rustic" looking and nice. The person at the desk that greeted us was nice and efficient. We had booked a room with two queen beds, which turned out to be a room that had two bedrooms with a queen bed and TV, also we had a living room with a couch, table, mini fridge and TV. The bathroom was large and clean. The room was older but overall clean and comfortable. It was an average cost compared to the area hotels, but with much more room. The hotel is on the older side.

We picked the Super 8 because it had the best ratings of all the available hotels. It was awful, it smelled of old stale smoke, the bed was old and uncomfortable, and the bathroom floor was dirty. When we checked in the clerk tried to charge us an additional fee and told us we didn’t pay 11% in taxes. The math was correct, we paid Expedia 11% in taxes. I would not recommend.

No continental breakfast at all just coffee ,tea and hot chocolate and microwave and toaster to use in breakfast area. Also no microwaves in the rooms only a very small mini fridge

The hotel was decent - not a luxury property, but right across from the water, and clean. We paid a little more for a bridge view room & enjoyed the view. Giving a 3 star rating as the stay was to include breakfast. We arrived to learn that “breakfast” is coffee & granola bars. That’s it. No fruit, juice, yogurt… We were given a coupon for a restaurant where a simple stack of pancakes were $18. There’s a man in Mackinac city who has a bit of a racket going with ownership of several properties. Do yourself a favor & stay at the riviera if they have vacancy and eat at the Mackinac bakery. They have bacon egg & cheese sandwiches on a croissant for $7.

we stayed in the room next to the pool,room 121.The entry door swung outward.so you had to open it slowly or you might accidently hit someone going to the pool entry door. a little tricky but I think it was done that way to make it handicap accessable.The room furnishings were of high quality.2 big windows overlooking the indoor pool and another looking outside,very spacious room.The location was walkable and you could see the mackinaw bridge,the park accross the street was beautiful with points of interest and great beach access. the staff was friendly.they offer a shuttlebus to catch the ferry to the island and a discount coupon book which was very helpful. It was every enjoyable.

We liked being able to walk to and from the ferry. The shuttle was available quickly to get there but the wait for it to take you back was too long so we walked. The staff was mostly friendly. The pool and spa were not clean. You couldn't see the bottom of the pool. It looked like they filled it with the lake water. The inside of our rooms for the most part were clean except the toilets. They were dirty when we checked in. Bathrooms needed an update. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Overall not a bad place for the money.

Loved the location. The Mackinac Bridge and Mackinac City Lighthouse Park are across the street. Great restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The facility is older but was comfortable.

Checking in the woman was rude because I was trying to explain they charged my card and she tried explain that it was just a hold - thankfully the man I talked to the day before was there and helped me finish checking in. I understand it was a holiday, but customer service wasn’t there…. I don’t expect to be right but I do want to be talked to appropriately.
