Sanctuary in the Shire-MCA#50080 is a wonderful place to make family memories. It is made up of two separate homes so that you can all be together but have your own spaces as well. The 5 bedroom/3.5 bath home called Osprey Nest sleeps 12 with 4 queen beds and 4 twins(bunks) and the second home called Hummingbird Cottage is a 3 bedroom +loft/2 bath home that will sleep 6 with 3 Queen beds and/or the 2 Twins in the loft area.

At Sanctuary in the Shire we take pride in providing a welcoming and relaxing environment for family vacations. This home is designed to be a peaceful retreat for families and friends looking to enjoy quality time together. Please note that this property is not suitable for party crowds, and parties are strictly prohibited.

In between the two homes is an incredible indoor/outdoor lounging area for eating, visiting, relaxing whether it be in the sun or the shade and it's protected from the wind. The kitchen in Osprey's nest has a pass through window that goes into the outdoor lounge area making it easy for serving up delicious food items easily while you picnic outside.

The back yard of the Hummingbird Cottage has a fire pit for smores and campfire stories for all the family to enjoy. Having both units gives you the best of both worlds. Your family will want to come back year after year.

The living space in both homes is bright with natural light pouring in from the large windows. Enjoy having everyone together while cooking in the fully equipped kitchen and large picnic-style table. Perfect for game nights and puzzles with the family. They are both NON smoking and will allow 1 dog per house.

These vacation rentals are close to the local pub that plays live music most Saturday nights in the summer. So you will either enjoy a free show and let the kids stay up late or have an easy walk back from a night out. Music can play til Midnight but doors close at 10pm for noise purposes. IF you are not wanting to enjoy the free concert we suggest packing ear plugs for those nights.

(*We cater to responsible adults and families. The contract for this home states that if you break the house rules for noise, damage, etc and are found to have been an irresponsible group of partiers, there will be a fine up to $2000)

This was a perfect space for our family of 18 to gather for a long weekend! The location is amazing, just behind the main shopping street and two blocks to the beach. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms and having three different living room type spaces also gave plenty of flexibility with multiple generations. The hosts were also very responsive to messages and gave clear instructions.

Great Family vacation

There were 7 adults and 6 kids! The house was perfect! Lots of plates and silverware for us to prepare and enjoy most of your meals at the house! Plenty of room to spread out. The fire pit in back yard was perfect for s’mores, and we made several bon fires on the beach as well! We also enjoyed the board games provided! We will definitely one back!

Family Reuion

We had a family reunion here - 11 adults and 2 children, and a dog. It was perfect for us. The two houses let us divide up into the late night house and the early to bed house. The breezeway was perfect for all of us to eat in and have drinks. Two quick blocks to the beach with a coffee shop and a hot dog stop on the way. Well equipped and comfortable. Being able to bring our dog was a huge plus. We really enjoyed out time here. I highly recommend these houses to any group.

Excellent Manzanita rental for large groups

We enjoyed a weekend together with our 4 adult children, their spouses and 4 grandchildren (total 14 people). Having two homes that are closely connected were an ideal set up for our group. The location was outstanding, just a short walk to coffee, grocery and shops. The beach is an easy flat 3 block walk. The homes are beautifully remodeled and well appointed with plenty of dishes, silverware, pots/pans, etc. plus beach toys and games for kids.The outdoor gathering areas are a great addition and dogs are allowed. There was plenty of parking and we were notified when the house was ready for us to check in (an hour before the assigned check in). The only small convenience I might add would be shower organizers or something to set soap/shampoo on in the showers. Thank you so much!!!

We were able to have large dinners in the connected covered outdoor area. Somewhat soft beds and if you are over 6’ in the smaller home the upstairs bedroom won’t work, but otherwise a great stay. A minute walk to downtown and 3 to the beach. Great location and a good time for all.
