Horrible experience about security of building. Someone was knocking on my door at 1am without stopping. My husband had to yell and threaten to call the police for person to go away. I thought someone was trying to gain access to my room to rob us. They did not say a word, only banging on the door. There is a vulnerable spot as lifts can be operated without electronic keys. I felt very scared and unsafe. We called the concierge and asked for someone to check CCTV. No one got back to us with an explanation or apology. NEVER going back there. Thank god it happened on my last night anyway.

Ideal hotel when travelling by train

An ideal hotel when travelling by train. Just a very short walk across the road from main station. Hotel quite basic but the room was comfortable and clean. There is a bar with outside seating. Bearing in mind how close it is to train station the area was very quiet at night.

Not what I expected

Tiny room, smelly beds. The AC did not run well although I set at 17C or lower. One light in the bathroom was broken, the toilet seat was also broken. The beds were not flat, and u comfortable. I toon the video of the hotel, and could not upload since onky photos are allowed here.

Great location. Just push your luggage off the train and across the street and you are here! Best Feature of all! Tiny room but perfect for a quick overnight for an early trip by the train or take the bus from the train station to the airport!

Convenient, clean, comfortable

Nice stay at very conveniently placed hotel next to main rail station. However, our room had almost no electrical outlets, and no coffee machine. Not dealbreakers, of course, but in a competitive market for hotel accommodation, Ibis should be providing these things. Also, everything is a "pay for" extra, it seems... baggage storage, for example. Ouch.

We had a great stay at ibis Marseille Centre Gare Saint Charles! The hotel and its facilities were clean and well-kept. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and answered our questions about our scheduled train ride. While smoking is very common in Europe, it is good to keep in mind (especially if you or your young children are sensitive to the smell) that some cigarette smoke may come through your window from the café below - we didn’t mind too much ourselves. The best feature of the hotel is that it is steps away from Gare Saint-Charles station (major train station) which is extremely convenient if you have an early-morning train ride like we did!
