Nice hotel right on the beach.

Nice hotel with great pool right on the beach. Buses, i.e. the trolley, regular buses (e.g. To Ventura Mall) and the Big Bus hop-on hop-off stops right outside the hotel. Breakfast was further good with a great selection. Lift capacity can be a challenge in the morning but not a dealbreaker.

Upon check in, I printed out my expedia receipt showing "paid in full" to Expedia, but Expedia did not pay the hotel so I paid at the hotel too. The food at the breakfast buffet was cold and 250 people using the same serving spoon. When I asked where I could find hand sanitizer I was told "we do not offer that". $500.00 per night and the TV in the room was all spanish and when I asked for help at the front desk, they sent a Spanish speaking man who shrugged and left. when I asked him to show me the TV. There are a lot of nicer hotels for the money in Miami Beach, keep searching.

wayyyyyyy too many kids, also got drinks charged to my card in addition to them being charged to the room which made no sense why i had to pay double for that. 3 elevators is not enough. lobby bathrooms were dirty. front desk staff feel entitled for some reason. other than that free breakfast was good. location is inconvenient but beach was very peaceful. also need more beach chairs. not sure why they havnt thought of that bc it was always packed

Even though we booked the hotel 11 months before travelling, we were given the worst room in the hotel on the 10th floor, it was the top floor with a flat roof above us which housed some sort of a generator, it was like trying to get to sleep in an engine room !! When we complained to reception at around 2am we were told they always get noise complaints from guests in room 1021 and 1023 and we could have a different room next day, a fat lot of good that is when you are staying 2 nights on Valentine weekend. No apology was given or compensation of any kind. I would never stay in Riu Plaza Miami Beach again . Our special weekend was ruined !!

We truly LOVED the Riu Plaza hotel! Such a beautiful property, with a heated pool, and a stone’s throw to the beach !!!! a short walk to Lincoln Road shopping and restaurants too. Would definitely return next year!!!
