Unsupportive Management
Our visit got off to a bad start. Our room was not very close to the office area. We were told to park our car at the end of the road, & then carry our luggage up a small street to our room. It was very hot outside, so we left our car there for 10-15 minutes while we dropped off our luggage & changed so that we could go swimming in the downtown area. The hotel does not have any parking, so all guests park in the downtown lot. While unloading our car & changing to go swimming, we were given a $35 parking ticket. We were surprised & disappointed by this, but more shocked by the manager’s response - too bad, we can’t do anything about it. Some suggestions - tell your guests to drive up the small street & park in the apartment’s parking space while unloading; give a temporary sign for your customers to place on their car for the police to see for 15 minutes while they unpack; call the police & let them know what happened in this case & have the violation dismissed - after all tourism is kind of important to this town; lastly, pay the $35 fine. The incompetence of the managers at this hotel was 10/10. Our rating would have been 10/10 if not for the parking incident and the hot weather. Due to the heat (which the hotel cannot control) & the lack of fans in the hotel room (which they can and should!) brings the rating down to 8/10. But the lack of help from any of the managers brings the rating down to where it belongs. Not what one would expect when paying $300/night!
