I chose to stay here based on all the wonderful reviews and it exceeded my expectations. The property is immaculate and my room on the second floor had contemporary furnishings, hardwood floors and a window with a view to the park across the street. Queen size bed was quite comfortable, bathrobes provided, a small refrigerator and coffee pot. Location was important to me as I did not want to stay where tourists stay, but rather in a vibrant diverse neighborhood. The Plateau was just that, and was the perfect base for my explorations. I stayed mostly on foot but between Uber, Metro and Bixi it’s easy to get around. Some reviews complained about the lack of an elevator but at 73 I had no problem sprinting up to the second or third floors. I travel light, so if you like to bring big giant trunks of clothes it may be difficult without muscles and youth.

Great place, great location, great staff. My only criticism is that the AC is not controllable in the room - on the 3rd floor in the summer it was warm at night, and cooled off by morning. It would be nice to keep the room cooler at night - there’s certainly no need for the thick duvet.

Older building and room but everything else was great. Many local places to eat, for shopping, and across the street from a park. I'd recommend if you are not one looking for pampering in your hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious.

Beautiful Montreal

Wonderful well situated hotel across from beautiful La Fontaine Parc. Shopping, restaurants all around. Highly recommend Fitz bike tour a few steps away to see highlights of Montreal.

Ce que j'ai aimĂ© de cette Auberge, c'est l'emplacement, prĂšs du magnifique parc La Fontaine, qui doit ĂȘtre superbe en automne et en Ă©tĂ©. Beaucoup de restaurants autour. Belle Auberge, en gĂ©nĂ©ral, bon petit dĂ©jeuner continental gratuit. Ce que j'ai moins aimĂ© c'est inconvĂ©nients des stationnements. Seulement 3 stationnements de type premier arrivĂ©, premier servis, en arriĂšre de l'auberge, accessible par une petite ruelle mal entretenue et Ă©troite, et attentions au rues Ă  sens unique un peu partout sur le plateau Mont-Royal. La TĂ©lĂ© de la chambre 11 ne fonctionnait pas et je crois que le robinet de la baignoire devrait ĂȘtre remplacĂ©, et l'Ă©lectricitĂ© de la chambre vĂ©rifier. La chambre Ă©tait un peut petite, pas beucoup d'espace chaque bord du lit. Mais, c'est quand mĂȘme une trĂšs belle petite Auberge, en gĂ©nĂ©ral, j'ai bien aimĂ©.

Great choice

Guidebooks may caution you about staying in the Plateau Royale because of noise. This was not the case at all. It was very quiet. Our room didn’t face the street. Even the windows are soundproof. Breakfast was good, there is a fridge in room and microwave available in common area. Lots of local restaurants around. Metro station is a 15 min walk. Concierge will answer questions. I would stay here again.
