Shaker Bear guest house, nestled next to a private golf course, showcases charming post and beam construction. Situated in the heart of the Dartmouth Sunapee Lakes region, it provides easy access to Pleasant Lake, Lake Sunapee, and Little Lake Sunapee, offering abundant opportunities for swimming, hiking, and skiing. Proctor Academy, Colby Sawyer and Dartmouth College are only minutes away by car. The Country Club of NH (public course) is just 3 miles from our location. This course is ranked #2, as a classic course, in Golfweek’s annual list of public golf courses.

Inside the residence, you'll find two bedrooms – one featuring a queen bed and two twins, and the other with two twins. There are two bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a shower/bath combo. The spacious family room is adorned with a gas fireplace, and the fully equipped kitchen ensures all your culinary needs are met. Keep cool on warm summer days with the provided air conditioning.

Take in the breathtaking views from the rear deck while lounging in Adirondack chairs shaded by a generous umbrella. For added relaxation, unwind in the screened porch, offering both captivating views and a comfortable retreat. The vacation home is conveniently located near private runway NH40-Eagles Nest airport. The town of New London boasts of all of the charm you would expect to see in a quaint New England college town. You will find numerous shops and restaurants, and the barn playhouse (summers only). Winter Delight

Extremely comfortable, extraordinarily well furnished with attention to every single little detail! A five star hotel could not match Tom and Kems hospitality and concern of our comfort. Home away from home

The property itself was beautiful! It had views of a beautiful garden and a golf course. The house was so bright and spacious and quite comfortable. The hosts were charming, friendly and so accommodating… they truly made our visit quite memorable. I will definitely stay here again the next time I visit New London

The entire property has this very soothing and comfortable vibe that makes you feel at ease The lawn and gardens are just BEAUTIFUL! We loved Bubbles and Stanley(the dogs). Best vacation ever!

Kem and Tom were amazing - right there to greet us and so helpful with anything we needed. Their place was beautiful- so well appointed - they left us treats, pulled out games for the kids snd told us about special events happening in town. They turned a short getaway into a real vacation. Another Wonderful Stay!

This is our second stay and it was even better than the last. We decided to stay longer this time because we enjoyed our first stay so much. The home is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Special cottage in New London!!

What a wonderful spot the Shaker Bear Cottage is!! We were in New London for a Colby Sawyer college reunion, and this was the most perfect place to stay. Our hosts Tom and Kem are wonderful, and their cottage is so lovely—-spotless, well appointed with anything we would need (kitchen, bathrooms) and was tradition New England decor. We loved our visit!!!

Quiet family vacation

House was beautiful and had everything we needed. Hosts were amazing! Very friendly and accommodating. They always made sure we were comfortable and had what we needed. They even set up the fire pit and grill for us. Located on a quiet road off the golf course where you can sit on their deck and enjoy the quiet and views.

Weekend girls trip

We had a great time staying here. The rental was BEAUTIFUL and very comfortable. I actually wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the property more! Outstanding property....outstanding hosts

We had a wonderful week in New London. This property is a quiet and scenic location right on Lake Sunapee Country Club's golf course. The house was perfect. Tom and Kem couldn't have been nicer and were always available if we needed anything. We come to the area a couple times per year and we will absolutely be looking to book this property in the future.

What a beautiful setting and friendly hosts! My wife, daughter, and I arrived to a beautifully equipped home that is very well maintained and spotlessly clean. We were thrilled and instantly comfortable. The location is an easy drive to New London where there are restaurant and coffee shop options and the setting overlooks a golf course. The house looked great on the listing, but was even better in person. Great setting and location. The house is beautifully furnished and well stocked. What a charming abode, gracious hosts, comfy beds! We loved our visit and can’t wait to come back!

Hosts had the fireplace crackling and ready, every amenity possible. The house was lovely, Inviting and everyone felt so relaxed and at-home. Abundant charm as well, from the bevy of oriental rugs and antiques to the potted plants and fresh-cut flowers. Hosts were excellent communicators and even offered to mail us the blankie my daughter left behind. Best experience!
