We booked our room and it was a bit smaller than we had anticipated, but would’ve been perfect for just me and my wife. we brought our six-year-old with us to experience NYC at Christmas, the hotel staff did everything to accommodate us to switch our room to a larger double queen bed at minimal cost,, have stayed here several times and will go back.

The tiny room was clean & staff was courteous. However, the room was much darker as far as the lighting & the Queen size bed seemed to actually be a Full-size bed. There was only enough towels for one person & I had to ask for another set to accommodate the reservation for two people.

Honestly everything was wonderful. Friendly, clean, comfortable, complimentary breakfast, loved the restaurants attached. Didn’t expect such a lovely atmosphere being so close to Times Square but will definitely book a stay here again next time I come to the city! Also, Hanniel at the front desk gave such a warm welcome and all the info we needed.

I thought I would atleast get a decent room for paying almost 400 dollars. What I get instead is my room changed to a corner room with nothing in sight when opening window. Just inside of an in closed space of hotel where your view is their indoor dumpsters.

I have had problems with the blackout curtain twice. Although you pay for breakfast, in reality, you need to pay more if you want to sit. It's not more than a glass of coffee or juice, and a sandwich. Just it. The housekeeping is so nice. The location is excellent. This is the best thing.

Strict and Inconsistent

Overall the Edison was a great hotel. My wife and I went with some friends for an anniversary trip. The hotel was very clean and most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. It has a great 20's vibe with the decor and atmosphere. The restaurants and bars were very good and if you want to venture out it is in an excellent location with lots of top notch food in the area. Unfortunately there were a few issues that would keep me from giving this hotel 5 stars. First, the room needs a mini fridge. With all the great restaurants in the area we wanted to bring leftovers back to savor later and couldn't. It would also be great to have a cold bottle of water handy. Second, they are very strict & Inconsistent with the checkin/out policy. We arrived early and attempted to check in and were told it would be a $65 charge for the early hour. Our friends at the other end of the desk were given their room right then. When asking about a late check out we we were told it was also an exorbitant fee. Lastly, check out is listed as 12:00. We were up early and went out for some last minute site seeing. We arrived back to the hotel to check out at 11:45 to find that our room keys had already been deactivated so we couldn't use the elevator or get into our room to retrieve our bags. Again, overall a great hotel and would stay again. Just a few things that would really put it over the top.

Amazing week at Hotel Edison!

Loved this hotel! It is exactly what we wanted, a real NYC art deco location. The staff were very nice and helpful. Security was not "in your face," but there making sure only guests are able to go into the room floors. This hotel is in a great location, center of Time Square, Theatre District and close to Mid Town. Subway was a quick walk. Getting around NYC was a breeze! Our room was very clean, no bugs, etc! Our housekeeper was great! Since there is no dressers (we were staying for 8 days) so this was a bit of an issue, she arranged for us to have 2 additional suitcase stands, which solved the issue! Another plus, we got free bottled water each day…NO $5 CHARGE PER BOTTLE! Will stay at this quaint, beautiful hotel again!

It is down the block from Time Square! Beautiful, clean, very comfortable beds and very secure. The extra pay for luggage storage after you check out is a huge help and down right cheap. When we return to NYC we will definitely stay here again.
