Nestled on 5 acres of lush lawns and gardens, the Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat stands as a magnificent and uniquely designed sanctuary, meticulously curated to offer unparalleled comfort. Situated at the heart of the renowned wine region, this retreat boasts breathtaking views and is just minutes away from all the treasures the Hunter Valley has to offer.

Elegance meets functionality in this stunning lodge, featuring 11 spacious bedrooms and 8 bathrooms that can graciously accommodate up to 33 guests in luxurious style. The expansive wrap-around verandahs, inviting swimming pool, and serene jacuzzi beckon guests to unwind. A vast games room with a billiard/pool table, table tennis, and a cinema, complemented by outdoor amenities like bocce, chess, and croquet, provide entertainment for all. The grand entertainment and sun deck offer captivating views of the Broken Back Range, creating a picturesque backdrop for unforgettable moments.

Perfect for large groups or corporate gatherings, the Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat strikes a balance between shared experiences and private spaces. As you approach the property through the tree-lined driveway, you're greeted by two life-sized bronze deer, guardians of this extraordinary space. The lodge's interior draws inspiration from traditional Canadian Hunting Lodges and Chalets, centered around a majestic stone fireplace and soaring cathedral ceilings, setting the tone for the entire retreat.

A modern semi-commercial gourmet kitchen in the main building boasts top-tier appliances, including two large ovens, dishwashers and coffee machines and catering to the culinary aspirations of guests. We boast that you will find everything in our kitchen. The dining area, adorned with a custom-made oversized table, fosters a relaxed atmosphere for communal meals amidst the tranquil surroundings.

The adjacent Retreat features its own new kitchen, lounge area, and an additional outdoor entertainment space. The quirky Lions Den Studio, a modern converted shipping container at the rear of the property, adds a touch of whimsy to this haven.

Designed for large group self-contained accommodation, the property is ideal for gatherings of friends, family, small weddings, and corporate retreats. A surreal evening on the deck will include the roar of the lions and the sight of the giraffes, our neighbours at the Hunter Valley Zoo.

Comprising four distinct buildings minutes apart - the Main Lodge, the Retreat and the Bison Den games room plus a laundrythe Hunter Valley Lodge offers flexibility for various group sizes. Additional accommodation options include a modern self-contained converted shipping container studio, providing an 11th bedroom and 8th bathroom if needed. (the studio is not included in the base tariff). We even have a Pets Pad for your furry friends.(max 3 dogs)

Whether accommodating up to 30 guests in the Lodge and Retreat or 33 with the addition of the Lions Den Studio, the Hunter Valley Lodge and Retreat guarantees an exceptional experience. For smaller groups, midweek reservations for either the Lodge or the Retreat are available. Corporates can indulge in the luxury of the complete Lodge, as it accommodates 28 guests in individual beds, and extra rooms are available on the vineyard next door. This ensures a memorable stay in the heart of Hunter Valley's beauty and tranquility.

The Lions Den Studio - Is not included in tariff and is $300 a night. Pets are charged at $50 each per stay.

A security deposit/bond of between $2000 (general stay) - $3000 (for events) is required for your stay and is payable as a credit card pre-authorisation. This will be processed approximately 24 - 48 hours before your arrival and released 3-5 days after your departure.

Weekend Public Holiday bookings must be a minimum 3-night stay at the full weekend rate.
Easter, Christmas and New Year are a 3-4 night stay and charged at the full weekend rate.

What a house!!! The ‘Yellow stone’ of NSW! Ideal for large groups this articulately designed residence had it all! Great entertaining zones, stunning, oversized terrace with endless seating & the games arena was a hit! There is so much attention to detail too. The additional, seperate accommodation is ideal for larger groups.

The perfect getaway for a large group

We had 24 guests with 4 kids and the property accommodated all of us all quite comfortably. We used the Lodge, Retreat and Lion's Den to accommodate our guests and all were clean, had modern facilities and the decor was nothing I had ever seen before. This property was like staying in a lodge in a forest; we heard the lions roaring at night, a nice fog had settled in overnight on one morning and there is so much space! Some bedrooms have ensuites and those that don't share fantastic bathroom facilities. We had a catered dinner on one of our night's stays and the kitchen was fully functional for our dinner. The views are also amazing and the property is very central to the main sights of the Hunter Valley. I highly recommend this property to stay at for a perfect experience.

Absolutely love this place.

We are a group of 28 people with 2 babies. spend 2 nights. the place is clean all facilities were fantastic. which we have really satisfied. the communication with the property manager was responded so quick and prompt to help if anything is missing. everything went so smoothly for my group. Even the weather was heavy raining for all 3 days but our group really enjoy to stay. I would recommend this place. and you will not be disappointed.

Dream holiday house

The Lodge and Retreat were just absolutely amazing. Not only were they gorgeous, they were also equipped with everything we could possible require. The pool and hot tub were also so nice to spend time in. The games room was immaculate and well stocked. It was a beautiful house and the surrounding area was equally beautiful. More than anything, the communication from Brooke was just so easy and great. She was so attentive to everything and so prompt with all her responses. Amazing service. Definitely will be coming back.

Absolute AMAZING!

This property is worth the review, it is definitely one of the most amazing property I've ever been to. Usually the knives are not sharp and houses lacks kitchen utensils BUT not this house! This was absolutely an amazing place and we had no issues with anything. It is definitely a 5 star and worth every penny. Definitely would come back again!

Outstanding property and location

From our arrival to our departure for a small gathering to celebrate our engagement, everything was picture perfect. The property was extremely well equipped, clean and tidy not to mention visually stunning. The gallery almost doesn’t do it justice. Warm and homely lodge with great amenities

This was a fantastic location to hold my 30th birthday with family and friends. The amenities were fantastic, whether you wanted to relax in the spa or challenge someone to a game of giant chess there was something for everyone. The vast amount of options for bedding came in handy and hearing the lions from the neighbouring zoo roar while you have your morning coffee was unforgettable. Katie was a pleasure to liaise with, we would love to stay again.

Facilities excellent for a large group including kids (separate bathrooms, number of beds, pool and kids entertainment). Katie who manages our stay was extremely helpful and prompt with all replies. We all had a fantastic time and didn’t need to leave the house due to the great set up. Overall absolutely fantastic for our purposes and hope to be back again.

Great Property

Hunter Valley Lodge is a wonderful property for big groups and families. We had 28 people and fitted in comfortably. The indoor and outdoor dining and relaxing spaces are outstanding. The kitchen caters for it all easily. The kids loved the pool, games room and open spaces - and being close to the zoo! Easy access to all the wineries and places like Hunter Valley Gardens. I understand extra air conditioning is being added to The Retreat, which will make all bedrooms comfortable even in the harshest weeks - it was 39 degrees when we were there.

Blown away with the property

What a wonderful weekend had by all. The property had everything and more for a large group. Loved the table that we could all sit at, the industrial sized kitchen, pool, the decor to just name a few. Will be definitely going back!!

Amazing!

I booked the lodge and retreat to celebrate my 40th. The house was even better than I was expecting! Noone wanted to leave and I couldn't have asked for more for the occasion.
