Close to cheese board. The smell of air fresheners and cleaners took awhile to get used to. At least it was clean. The room was cleaner than when I stayed six months ago. I did find a cob web under one nightstand but it wasn’t like last time when I found webs under everything. Not that I care but I felt for the price it should have been spotless.

Design touches were nice. It was artistically set up. Room was a bit dusty under the desk and bed. Cobwebs. I saw a big spider on the wall in the hallway outside my door every night. He’d move a few feet each day but it was clearly the same one. Didn’t care but I’d think housekeeping should vacuum him up. There were a lot of coffee stains on the carpet in the hallway. They gave out excellent free coffee in the lobby cafe and people obviously had brought it back to their rooms and spilled it in the halls. I also found remnants of granola under my nightstand and desk. Walls are a bit thin too but my neighbors were very polite and kept noise down. I was just conscious that we could hear each other’s voices and TVs so I didn’t make much noise. Finally the place had a strong smell of perfume from a cleaning agent or air freshener. All these things were not an issue for me but they may bother others. Overall my stay was good. It is one of the better places to stay in Berkeley. Nowadays anyplace without bed bugs is a five star hotel. So I was very happy. My dad lives nearby so I will be staying there a lot in the future.

Nice boutique hotel. Room was clean, decorated nicely, with good conveniences, like tv and wifi. Personnel were professional and welcoming.
