WOW! Wonderful hotel and staff

We have now stayed at Walnut Beach Restor many times after being blown away on our first visit the year it opened. The hotel is wonderful and the location stupendous. It has the best pool we have ever had at a hotel which overlooks it's own private beach and the lake. The steam room and sauna are great after a swim. The staff are so friendly and the hotel is clean. The first year we stayed it did not have a resturant but now it does and the food is great. We will continue to use this facilty whenever we are in this town.

Simply amazing!

Chose the Walnut Beach Resort for Thanksgiving week end with a few friends. Everything was perfect! We got a 2 bedroom condo, full kitchen (we cooked our thanks giving dinner and we had all cookware needed). The view over the lakes are stunnings! We have not used the pool as it was a bit cold but very nice set up just by the private beach. Unlike the other review we thought the service was great at all level; they probably solved their issues! I would reccomend this to everyone!

Beautiful Hotel,Great General Manager

The resort is beautiful and the rooms are huge and clean. My experience there was marred by the unprofessional and rude front desk staff, as well as the fact that I wasn't told about a private event and was not able to get anything to eat/drink. Not even room service. The resort is away from the main part of town and I had hoped to sample wines and did not want to drive to a restaurant. My room was right across the hall from the private function, and their morning meeting was loud. The good part of all this is that the general manager was nice enough to comp my room and offered me a free future stay. He seemed to be aware of the problems of the staff and also the problem of having private events and excluding other guests. I think he was genuinely interested, and wanted to do what he could to make up for a bad situation.

Not impressed-terrible service

I stayed at this hotel with friends for 4 days over the fall wine festival and found it unimpressive; the service was unprofessional and not at all what I was expecting; in fact we had more professional service from the Best Western on our last night in town. I think there is a serious lack of training and the front desk staff seemed dishevelled and just simply unprofessional. The menu was lackluster and clearly they do not have a professional chef on board. The server in the wine bar was inexperienced (even though she told me she was the manager) and I found this particular server not knowledgeable about the local wines whatsoever; when I go to wine country I expect everyone in the service industry to know the local wines and wineries by name and have an opinion on each one. The staff was definately undertrained. My room was ok but there were serval broken items (already, considering I thought the property was new). Management was no where to be found when I asked to speak with someone about my concerns. The spa is non-existant and when I requested a treatment I was informed the spa lady was ""on-call"" and needed notice. Definately some issues with the management of this resort. I don't foresee success i the future.

the best combination possible weather wines and luxury

just try it, the opening was in april yet the hotel had the service and facilities of a mature hotel, the location, the people and the contents are as stated when i discussed with the management. there is nothing negative to say , i love to cook, i had a choice of 7 napoleon bbq, try beating that. the pool was clean , nicely warm but freash and using some formula that did not hurt the eyes, i had to congratulate the pool keeper which i have never done, i am not a swimmer normally. we had space, view and quality and yes lets not gorget OSOYOOS, that place is beautiful, the wineries are close and very inviting, food is superb, go there and i am sure you will be like me, you will be planning your next trip there. i will be ther next may

Great location, great resort

This resort opened on April 1, 2008 and offers great value for money. It is an ideal family resort with on-site pool and beach amenities and full kitchens in all suites. It is a five minute drive to downtown Osoyoos where you will find two supermarkets, a liquor store, and any other item you will need to enhance your vacation. The resort offers professional-style barbeques around the pool area, hot tubs, a gym and steam and sauna facilities. We were very impressed with the level of service provided by management and staff during our romantic stay mid-April. I'm not certain if there is a restaurant on site. We were more than happy to use the kitchen and barbeque facilities. Area attractions include beaches, hiking and biking trails, world class wineries, a desert interpretive center, several golf courses, and a Spa. Osoyoos is described as Canada's only desert climate and "Canada's prettiest little town" and we would agree with both statements. We know other travelers will enjoy their time in this part of the Okanagan valley. Glenn and Susan, Vancouver, BC
