Glad I was able to cancel my reservation through Travelocity due to lack of air conditioning--it is an unusually hot and humid summer in Paris this year, which is not ideal for my husband who has asthma. We were about to stay here for 6 nights but decided to stay for one night for I thought, why not, we will get charged anyway--- ABSOLUTELY BAD DECISION. When we asked for a fan, the receptionist told my husband that he can carry the defective pedestal fan up to our room which he did, otherwise we wouldn't be able to sleep. The entire "hotel" (if you want to call it that) is muggy, and has no proper air circulation. The room we stayed in was tiny, even to a petite person like me. WIFI is completely unreliable. Whenever we go out we had to leave the key to the receptionist, which was unheard of in a hotel. This morning, we were about to check out. While packing up my things, I noticed that my jewelry, and money were gone! I WAS DEVASTATED. Still shocked and shaken, we immediately informed the manager, and asked if we could contact the police. She did not agree and instead pointed the sign on the wall that says they are not responsible for any theft in the hotel. She added that she is downstairs and do not know what is going on upstairs. Seemingly concerned, she gave us the direction to the nearest police station which was about an hour walk. We filed a complaint, got a copy of the report, and that was the end of it. We moved to a "proper" hotel with air conditioning.
