"Room was clean. Property and amenities were all great. Very easy booking.
Will do again."
"Great location! It is an older timeshare. So, the exterior of the buildings could use some maintenance. The interior was fine. Everything you needed, just a little dated. The kitchen is convenient for breakfast and any other meals you might want to make instead of going out to eat. The location is very convenient. You can walk to the docks to rent a boat. Several restaurants are within a 5 min drive, as is a beer distributor and an IGA grocery store.
The Promised Land SP is a short 10-15 minute drive. We went there to fish, and they also have a nice small beach to do some lake swimming. Also, small watercraft rentals and a concessions cabin. Great SP to spend half a day. Then we would head back to Tanglwood and spend the afternoon at the pool.
There is also The Lodge restaurant at the resort. It's open Thurs-Sun evenings. Good food, nice bar, and different entertainment each night (trivia night, karaoke, live music, etc.).
Our unit had lake view, so we had a decent view from the balcony. It was a great place for a relaxing few days up at a mountain lake resort."
"The hotel, a beautifully restored historic glass-making factory, is full of charm and character. Learning about its history made the experience even more special. The peaceful sound of the waterfalls, accompanied by birds singing, created a relaxing atmosphere, and the outdoor dining area overlooking the falls was simply beautiful.
My husband especially enjoyed the main gathering area, where we played games, had cocktails, and enjoyed our morning coffee. It was a welcoming space to unwind.
There are a few opportunities for improvement. The carpeting throughout the hotel did not appear as clean as the rest of the property. I also believe hotel guests should be asked at check-in if they would like reservations at the restaurant. Thankfully, Brittany at the front desk went above and beyond to secure us a reservation after we were initially told none were available. Her exceptional customer service made a lasting impression.
On our second evening, we spent time playing cards in the main lounge. Although several servers walked by, no one offered food or drinks, and we had to find a server ourselves. This felt like a missed opportunity to provide attentive hospitality while increasing food and beverage sales.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property's history, beautiful setting, and Brittany's outstanding service made it a wonderful experience. With a few improvements, this hotel could be exceptional."
