Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff were very helpful. The food at the Merganser was nutritious, delicious, reasonably priced and the staff went above and beyond to be helpful with dietary needs. It was worth the price paid!

Most likely not coming back

this is my 2nd time staying, stayed approx 2 years prior. This place is just as terrible as it was 2 years prior, with no improvements. I only wanted to stay there cause I liked the large parking lot, but when I arrived they were building a new casino in that beautiful parking lot connected to that park. So I was stuck on the top floor/garage, with 2 feet of snow, unplowed, and packed. Scared that drunk people driving out of there are sliding all over that garage. They were placing light fixtures and they looked like the cheapest things I have ever seen, the plain ceiling was much better. Front staff was nice, and new gift shop was very nice. Italian restaurant was shut down, and so I went to the Bar. Ordered a pizza, 15 bucks for a 5 dollar small digiorno frozen pizza reheated. So gross. But oh well. Casino staff is great, but every time you walk in the lottery police are like this evil beings that ask you your birthday, even though I have grey hair. I like the casino, I like the snack bar staff, and the table game staff. So I go to the hooded magister to eat, oh my, that steak was so plain, and it was stringy. The room was dated from the early 80s, clean, but all furniture was from that era, updated mattress, and very very small LCD 22 inch on the wall. Cant control the heat, totally run by the front desk. Just old...Why can't this place get an update. It has potential. It just feels like they are gunna make money no matter what cause they have a casino, bare minimum
