All staff were pleasant and helpful, and I enjoyed two good meals food-wise in the restaurant. Nice location in Center City. However, the public areas of the hotel - hallways, elevators, lobby area, restaurant - were FRIGID from the moment I checked in Wednesday evening until I departed Friday afternoon. I was attending a meeting on the 1st floor - no staff from the hotel bothered to visit and apologize for the discomfort, and on top of that, we asked to borrow a clicker for the Powerpoint and were told there would be a charge. Missed opportunity to make amends. I did not use valet parking, but others in my group did so, and it sounded as if that was a mess.

For as expensive as it was there was no frills, refrigerator was not cold, ice machine on our floor did not work properly, the room was dusty and so on.

The hotel is right in the heart of it all..

The hotel is in the heart of the city. Very busy on the day we checked in (Saturday). You can self park for $34.00 a night or $58.00 for valet parking. Ask a question so you can be informed if not you would have no idea where to self park. Our room was clean but the drape was partially hanging. I was annoyed because I'm very sure it was seen by cleaning staff and no one bothered to fix it. You pay for a pricey room I don't expect to see dangling drapes. We love Philadelphia and this hotel was center but I wouldn't be staying here in he future on our next return..

Plus and minus!

All staff were very helpful. I requested an executive corner king room with windows on "2 sides of the room". One side was excellent. Side two however looked out only at a building a few yards away from my room. The drapes had to be closed constantly. This eliminates the purpose of having windows on "2 sides of the room". The hotel has only valet parking and no self parking. This is not helpful if you need access to your car.

Thank you very much for choosing Courtyard Philadelphia Downtown for your stay. We are pleased you liked the service provided by our staff and had had an overall nice stay. We appreciate your observation in regard to the windows in your room. We also offer our guests the choice of valet parking and self-parking at a nearby garage for a slightly reduced rate. Thanks again, we hope you will stay with us again soon. Thank you, David Kidd, Assistant General Manager
