Ok stay but not to my expectation
Good resort sitting on a hill. Wonderful views of the ocean. Very impressive breakfast buffet. Some local food options around the hotel.
However, the hotel did not feel like a true 5 star hotel. The friendliness of the staff were just the surface. I felt they did not really go out of their way to make my stay comfortable. For example, we left from 8 am till 11am for breakfast, and the room was not refreshed. Then we came back around 1pm, the room was still not refreshed. We had to call to get room cleaned. No turn down service, which was a surprise for us since we have stayed at all other hotels and almost all provided turn down service. The hotel provides buggies but every time we passed by one, the driver would never offer a ride to us. We even waved one down but the reponse was that it was going down not going up. At other hotels I felt the staff were more sincere and eager to assist us.
The hotel also was under major renovation around the main pool and lobby area which had resulted the breakfast to be held at another location. It was very chaotic with kids everywhere. The renovation also caused noise around the main pool.
The hotel needs to take more care of the details in the room. For example, our doors to the bathroom couldn’t be closed properly. There were bare nails on top of the bathtub. Details but not difficult to spot them.
The beach is also messy with trash. It’s not the hotels responsibility but I have stayed at other location with cleaner beaches.
