"The hotel itself was completely renovated App. 5 years ago. From the character it is a typical Grand Hotel not new, but well maintained. The rooms are modern and spacious, the beds very well. The bathrooms are modern in in our room war even a double shower! Cleaning was good. There is also an integrated Spa area with a nice Finnish sauna, a dreambath and indoor pool with jacuzzi jets with thermal water. The outdoorpool is partly under a roof and mainly in the shadow, so it was too cold when we were there in April. The steamboats had unfortunately a bad smell, but in general the spa tea is nice and relaxing. What we were impressed is the spirit of this hotel, the nice pretty decorations, fresh flowers on the tables, the soul with which all this designs and decorations were done. And there is an excellent buffet breakfast every morning with fresh fruits, vegetables, various cold cuts, warm dishes covering every taste, homemade cakes and everything so delicious! Parking is across the street on a big public parking free of charge. The location is perfect if you want to go with the funicular to the upper town on the mountain or visit the thermal water springs in the historic Terme. Also the hotel is close to the big historical park, ideal for joggers and runners. We enjoyed the stay very much and would recommend it. For sensitive ears it is advisable to use ear plugs in the nights, since some rooms are directly viewing the street."

"The room was clean and bed comfortable. The rooms are somewhat modern without charm but I would still recommend. Short walk to the walled city of Lucca and free public parking right in front of the hotel so very convenient. Breakfast was adequate with excellent made to order coffee. Good value 3 stars hotel. "

He was very responsive and had plenty of suggestions on getting around and where to eat. If you need anything, he will take care of it for you.We had a great time while staying at his property!Lucca is such a cool city. It has all of the charm that you expect in Italy without the big crowds. "
