Puamana 9C is a roomy and comfortable retreat with easy walking access to the heart of Princeville! Your home base has two bedrooms, a living and dining area with lovely high ceilings, a fully appointed open concept kitchen, and three private lanais. From the second floor lanai you can take in views of the lush grounds and the ocean in the background! The ground floor bedroom is also air conditioned, a real luxury on Kauai.

Situated perfectly for you to have quick walking access to all that Princeville has to offer, Puamana 9C is a fabulous jumping off point for your island adventures. Anini Beach, home to Hawaii's longest coral reef and perfect for swimming and snorkeling, is just a brief 8 minute hike away on a shady path. The Princeville Shopping Center is just 15 minutes away on foot, and has a Foodland grocery store and all the shopping and dining options you could want! You can also visit the farmer's market every Saturday morning, and grab a bite before enjoying the free Saturday afternoon hula show. The Westin Resort is even closer, only 2 minutes walking, and offers access to a Starbucks, grab and go minimart, and upscale dining at the Nanea restaurant (head over for happy hour deals from 3-5!). For even more retail therapy and dining options, the picturesque island town of Hanalei is a 10 minute drive away, as are the iconic beaches of Hanalei Bay. For a quieter experience away from the crowds we recommend checking out the Kilauea Point Lighthouse and beautiful nature preserve just a short drive away.

If running around on vacation isn't your style, the Puamana grounds have all you need for a slow-paced, relaxing retreat. Spend the day lounging by the pool with a drink (no glass by the pool please), go for an evening stroll along the golf course greenbelt, and take in the sunset over the water from the second floor lanai. Whether you're staying in or going out, there's something for everyone here!

For those looking to get around the island, drive time to the East Side (where the airport is) is about 55 minutes, and to the South Shore is roughly 75 minutes.

This is a two-story home. To access the second floor bedroom and lanai you must be able to go up and down one flight of stairs.

This unit is partially air conditioned, in the downstairs bedroom only. There are plenty of fans and screen doors on all the lanais to help with airflow in the rest of the house.

Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

We have stayed in this complex previously and this property is great. Located close to Princeville center for groceries and shopping. Great walkable area. Championship golf close by as well. Everything was as described and well stocked.

Great house! Very comfortable for our family of five. The kitchen was decently equipped and it was nice to have a room with AC. BEAUTIFUL and safe community. We loved how close it was to Hanalei and Anini beach. We would definitely come back!

Unit was not well maintained, and nothing worked as expected. Inconveniences added up to an extremely unsatisfactory stay.Hard to reach owner even during business hours. A/C is listed as an amenity but it is only in one room and very minimal, the entire stay was very hot. When we arrived the the keypad was dead and we couldn’t access the unit for an additional 2 hours after check-in. We had to call for access to the lock box. The electricity went out in one room and we had to fix it ourselves. The dryer doesn’t work it keeps everything damp no matter how long we run it. Floors were grimy and stained our socks on the first day of arrival. We are happy to be checked out now. This is the worst rental property experience we’ve had.

It worked

Location is very convenient. Offered all the space we needed. Great for our family of 4 with older kids. Could have slept more there if needed. End unit and quiet. A bit more dated than we expected. Everything worked except for the internet, but they had that fixed in a couple days. Management communication was easy. The cleaning smell (something that was used on the carpet) was very hard to get used to, overpowering. The AC was only in the primary bedroom but surprisingly the upstairs bedroom wasn’t too bad at all with windows open and provided fan. My daughter did get bit by something in bed (spider most likely, as we did find them in her bed) and is still healing 20 days later. So perhaps just check the beds nightly. All in all it worked for the week we were there.

Great location for day trips all along the coast. Safe area and right across from the pool. Having the Foodland grocery store right up the street was super convenient. The accommodations need a bit of updating as it was pretty outdated and run down but it had all the creature comforts we needed. There have been lots of comments about the loft bedrooms not having AC but our kids were perfectly comfortable with the large fans they had pointed at each bed. We greatly appreciated the cooler, beach chairs, beach towels and snorkel gear made available to us.

Spacious property

This unit was quite spacious for our family of 5! Had pretty much everything we needed. The electronic keypad was hard to see in the dark when we arrived so I kept trying to put the code into the lockbox to no avail. Kitchen is well equipped as well as plenty of towels for showering and the beach. Upstairs was too hot at night for our 15yo so he slept on the couch. Beach chairs were nice to have when we went to Hanalei. Grounds are beautiful!

Spacious but needs some TLC

We just came back from our stay. The condo is very spacious which worked well for our family of 5. The kitchen was nice and very well stocked with dishes, glasses, appliances, etc. We appreciated having beach chairs and boogie boards to use. The pool was nice and even though we only used it once, we enjoyed it. Garbage and recycling were very close by. We did notice a bug issue which we found gross! We kept the kitchen very clean and still kept seeing bugs, we also found them in the living room, bathroom and downstairs bedroom. I did make the property manager aware. They stated that the exterminator had treated one day prior to arrival which I’m not sure I believe and would be sent back since I made them aware of the problem. I also noticed that the fans in multiple areas were very dusty. The first time we used the washer, I found a full load of towels and sheets left in the dryer, which then we folded and put away. Many of the windows didn’t close properly and had screens that didn’t seal which I’m sure didn’t help the bug issues. The thing that bothered us the most, were the bugs and seeing all the dust. The downstairs and stairs are carpet which IMO doesn’t work well when dealing with moisture and sand. I also was frustrated knowing how much the cleaning fee was and not feeling like the job was completed well. This condo has great potential but needs some tlc. I hope that since I did make the rental agency aware, they will address many of the concerns.

We loved how quiet this property is and how close it is to beaches and Hanalei on the North side of the island and pool. We didn't like how parking was difficult due to construction happening in the area and we were expecting forced air air conditioning, not a window unit in the downstairs room and air towers upstairs.

Great stay!

The property manager provided clear directions on checking in/out of the condo which made that process very easy and stress-free. The place was in a great location with a huge craft fair in the complex on Saturdays. The condo was spacious and clean and had a nice patio outside. The only cons were the roof was being worked on by construction workers, so there was a lot of loud banging directly outside our windows and there were small flies coming from the kitchen sink and bathtub drain, but that can happen anywhere and is an easy fix. Aside from those two things, this was an awesome place and I would stay here again!

Noisy neighbors

The first number of days (and nights) were just fine. The last four nights new guests arrived next door. They were loud, rowdy and drinking all night long in the parking lot directly next to the downstairs bedroom (where we were trying to sleep). It was particularly bad the first two nights of their being there. After the their first night of partying ( which started at 2am and did not end until 6am!!) I was able to connect with the manager and was told that they would be communicated with and the problem would not happen again. Well the next night it started up again at 1:30 am and by 3:00 am an argument and fight broke out in the parking lot. This time I called the police. They arrived after the altercation had finished, and the several young men who were involved, had gotten into their vehicles and quickly departed. Things were not as bad the next two night though they still continued to be up and making noise well past the quiet hour of 10 pm. In fact the noise and talking, yelling, clinging of empty beer bottles never began until well after mid-night. The stay in the condo was fine. The issue with the neighbors, and the fact that it kept happening, was terrible.

Our stay was good. There were some discrepancies between the pictures and the listing but nothing that hindered the space from being used. The a/c in the master was nice as we are from AK and arent as accustomed to the heat. The response time was very quick and check in was easy.

Awesome time

Great place to stay. Very clean and very well equipped. the condo is very conveniently located for all north shore activities. It is very easy to reach Hanalei beach and to plan your hikes to the Napali coast. It is also very convenient to walk around Princeville and to its beaches. The community is very quiet and we used the barbecue non-stop during our stay.

Great!

A very clean and comfortable condo, near to Anini and Hanalei. We loved the path down to the beach for a quick dip, although we are very active and definitely would not have taken our moms who are 70 and up. The beach gear was plentiful (!!) and the kitchen so we’ll stocked, I feel bad we basically didn’t cook. Owners were very kind and communicative. Location is great, and you would pay much more at a hotel. It was just us, so more than we needed. Upstairs lift has a king and a queen, and we both remarked how comfortable the bed and pillows were. The downstairs king with air con was nice too . It was palatial for us but we were getting married so we loved the space, would be a great deal for a larger group or family. We posted up family in two different puamana cobdos and was fun to cut through the grass to each others places. Thanks for the hospitality!

Don't believe what you read

Don’t be deceived by the first two words in property title after Puamana 9C – Air Conditioning. I chose this unit because of air conditioning. I didn’t read “Partially Air Conditioned” near the bottom in the fine print until we arrived. While anything over zero could be considered partial, the condo is about 975-1000 sq feet and the air-conditioned space is about 110 square feet That means 11% of the living space is air conditioned. The Puamana complex is over 50 years old. The kitchen has been updated as have the bathrooms. Originally, the much larger upstairs bedroom was probably the master and the adjoining bathroom is bigger. Unless you like going to sleep at 80 degrees or more, the upstairs bedroom is untenable. Also, don’t go by the pictures in the property description because the living room furniture, dinette set, and wall hangings are not the same. There were just two of us and we slept in the AC bedroom. It would have been miserable for two couples or more. Needless to say, this is the worst VRBO experience we have ever had.

Relaxing Stay

This is a quiet and clean property with nice amenities. We are a family of four and everyone had plenty of space. It was a great home base to explore the North Shore beaches and sites.

Cute home base for north shore adventures

Great property. Walkable to stores and Willey beach. Wifi was reliable. You could do remote work from here. Kitchen had everything we needed and the appliances were in good condition. The pool was a nice bonus. My only concern would be if you have young children because the kids bedroom is upstairs in an open loft.

Okay place

Our first couple of days we had to deal with an excessive amount of flies. I mean excessive. We figured out they kept coming in from the old cheap window screens. Wetaped the down and it made a huge difference. I let property management know and they wanted pictures as proof. Ummm, I was busy killing flies while trying to make dinner. The last thing on my mind was pictures. I did take them later on if the dead ones I killed on the window frame with bugs spray. I'm sure I'm not the only who had this issue. We found a quick fix, you're welcome! We come to Kauai every year stay at different rentals. I understand I sects are a part of island living but this was not that. Place had other issues I let them know early on that was not big deal, I just didn't want to get blamed for it. Other than that cleanliness was fine. Won't be staying there again however.
