Wasteful shower design

The room was clean and comfortable and the gym was good. However, I gave the hotel 3 stars because the shower lets out so much water that it is actually wasting water. There's no door for the shower, so when you bathe, the water streams out of the shower and onto the bathroom floor. So much water streams out that I had to place the bathmat 12 inches away from the shower entrance so that it wouldn't get wet.

Good place to stay ...convenient to walk to Duke

The check in was super nice. The air conditioner was making a lot of noise - a racket. We had to complain multiple times. But they did respond 🙄 after the third vociferous complaint and replaced compressor. Friendly maintainence team , Barry the maintainence executive brought in a lot of smiles with his attitude.

We love staying here when we come to visit our family. Every stay has been wonderful. The room is very comfortable. We love the gym and the breakfasts. Having a nice laundry area on the premises is also a huge plus. The best part is the fantastic staff-everyone is so nice and helpful. Thank you for always making our trips memorable.

It smelled musky and like urine in our room and much of the facility just smelled like cleaning supplies. The wifi wasn’t great in the room. The location is decently close to Duke, but the immediate area is at a street intersection right by a gas station. There was plenty of parking for pay by mobile 15$.

Long drive to have my room given away.

After confirming my stay with the Residence Inn Durham by checking in online, then email exchange just hours before my arrival stating “I am on my way and would be there in 2hrs”- then the hotel acknowledging that check in… I got to the front desk at 6:10pm to find out I no longer had a room and was being re-booked at a different, lesser quality hotel 10 mins away. (After driving 9hrs to get there). Utterly ridiculous and I’ll never book a room with them again.
