Our family really enjoyed our stay at this home. It was so close to the ocean and the view from the upstairs balcony was amazing. There were a couple things to note: The downstairs garage and bedrooms smelled damp when we arrived and continued to smell damp throughout our stay. To get to the beach you do have to decend about 8 larger boulder steps, which was difficult for some of our older family members (if you walk down the street there is a less steep entrance). The house was mostly well cleaned, but there were large items found under the couches and under a bed downstairs (old goopy bubble wand). There were wet bath mats in the dryer on our arrival as well. Family Reunion Time

The home was just as pictured. No surprises is a good thing. It was very clean. It was equipped with comfortable beds, a very large and well-stocked kitchen, and lots of fun toys for children. The garage even had fun things for children and teens. The home is just across the street from the beach which made access so handy. The neighborhood was quiet an we had easy access to several small grocery stores and many shops James was very accommodating. His communication with us was always prompt and helpful.
Our group found a giant piece of wood and rolled it down the beach to make a wind break. A lot of work, but so worth it.

Great location, nice house

Very happy with our stay - would stay here agin. The house was exactly as represented and clean upon arrival. Great access to beach - although as other reviewers have noted the “stairs” are actually giant boulders approximating stairs. May be challenging for those with balance or knee issues. No communication with owner was needed, as we had no issues, so can’t comment on responsiveness.

Great family house

We had a great time staying here. Perfect size for a big group. Easy check in and communication. 3 full bathrooms is a huge plus. Super clean and huge kitchen/living space. Stocked well with all toiletries. Close to the beach. Not much of a yard but was just fine for 2 small dogs. Would recommend!

Great house very close to beach access!

This house was overall, FANTASTIC! The beach access was amazing and so close to the front door. Colby get better than that! The deck with a semi/blocked ocean view was great also! Kitchen was well stocked. And the bedroom layout was great with lots of space. My kids enjoyed the spacious garage and we were able to set up crates for our dogs in the garage or bedroom with plenty of space as well while we went crabbing for a few hours. The only issue we ran into was the heat was constantly on even though all the thermostats were on. I hate dealing with management while in “vacation” so we just opened a window and dealt with it but that is the only issue we had that will need to be fixed by management. Other thing would have been ideal to have more than 1 house key but not really a deal breaker. The lock box is getting stuck shut probably from sea salt. But once we got in the first time it was easier to open it the rest of the weekend. This was a great stay and would definitely come again if we come back to rockaway.

Really comfortable, well maintained and well stocked home.

We traveled from the midwest to spend a week with our daughter and son in law. Prior to our arrival, I found the booking and check in process smooth. Communication with the host James was professional, prompt and friendly. The house is clean, well maintained and thoughtfully appointed. The nearest big grocery is 20 minutes away- I would recommend you check the house first before shopping as it is unlikely you will need trash bags, cleaning supplies, toilet paper or paper towels. There were plenty of bath towels, a closet full of baby items, and lots of throw blankets perfect for cozying up with a book during the cool evenings. We walked to breakfast and local shopping. This experience is what one would hope for in a VRBO rental. I recommend without hesitation.

Great house and location.

Accommodations fit us perfectly as three groups of friends with four kids all together. There was space for all of us to gather comfortably in common areas to relax, eat, and play games. Tons of toys and games for the kids, which was wonderful. Extremely well stocked kitchen. The location is a few steps from the beach and centrally located for great day excursions. The hose outside the door was essential for washing off the little before entering the house. We appreciated our stay.

Great house for a multi family vacation

Having 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths was ideal for the group. The house is well equipped and had just about everything we needed. The kitchen had everything we needed for meals. Getting everyone together was facilitated by the open floor plan on the second floor that included the kitchen, dining, and living room areas as well as an ocean view. The view was somewhat limited by houses across the street although the sunsets were still great. The close access to the beach made it great for walks and our dog loved it.

We love to stay here!

This was our second time staying at this Rockaway Retreat! We love so much about this place I’m sure there is not enough space to list it all. Our entire family, including our puppers, enjoyed every moment! The kitchen is stocked with everything you need to cook, grill, and bake. Beds are all comfy with cozy blankets throughout the house, beautiful master bathroom, and extra floor mattresses that are great for the kiddos. Great neighborhood with friendly neighbors and renters. But our favorite thing are the decks! Sitting there watching the sun set is truly priceless! We felt so privileged to be there again this summer, and can’t wait to go back!

Amazing stay!

What a great house to share with another family! We had the best stay! Ample room, lots of floor space for young sleepers, having 3 bathrooms was awesome! The quick walk to the beach made running back for a forgotten item not miserable. Everything was great! They also had so many great beach items, kites, sand toys, chairs, umbrellas! This is a set house for your beach stay needs. Owners were quick to respond and I will definitely be looking into this house again some year. <3 Thank you so much!

Everything we could want

The property is perfectly situated and wonderfully equipped. There were even sharp knives in the kitchen, a rarity. The beach is a barefoot walk away, and we went down at a moment’s notice. Toys and extra mattresses were much appreciated for the little ones. If there was anything amiss, it was the overly potent air fresheners, which we stored in the cabinets until it was time to leave. Given the chance, we would definitely pick the same house again. As a host, James was responsive, helpful, and very understanding when my family triggered the alarm on accident upon arrival.
