Beautiful South End home, 5 minute walk to downtown and beach!

Welcome to Rockland and Lamorna Cottage!
This 1880s home has been lovingly restored. The cottage offers a true getaway on a quiet South End street. It's a short walk to all Rockland has to offer - festivals, shopping, world-class museums, the water-front, several restaurants and the small public beach.
On the first floor, there is a Living Room with a sectional couch and chairs, a TV with internet hook-up and DVD player with an assortment of movies. There is also a large dining room with seating for 6, a gourmet fully-equipped kitchen with island, a 3/4 Bath (shower) and a laundry closet with full-size washer and dryer.
On the second floor, there are two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with a queen bed and a twin. Both rooms have side tables, bureaus, table lamps and ceiling fans. There is also a full bath off the second floor hall with a deep soaking tub.
Off the kitchen is a deck with outdoor seating, a picnic table, gas grill and a small garden. The front yard is a sunny place to hang out on the Adirondack chairs.
The number of guests is limited to 4 plus up to 2 children (there is a pull-out bed in the Dining Room and a large couch in the Living Room). There are hardwood floors throughout.
There is free internet available and we are pet friendly. We charge $25 for each additional guest over 4 to cover linens and cleaning.

My daughter and I loved our stay. Juli is an excellent host and easy to contact. My daughter was able to work in the dining room while I took her dog into the also pet-friendly town. Perfect location. The binder full of suggestions for the area was appreciated. The home was exactly as described only better!

This house is amazing! The kitchen is beautiful and so well stocked. Fantastic layout with so much light coming in. Love the location, only a few blocks from the ocean with wonderful walking paths. It felt like home and we hated to leave.

This is the quintessential Maine home and located in a perfect place in Rockland, ME for ease of experiencing the area. Just a couple of blocks away, one can find restaurants, museums, the shore, shopping and more. The neighborhood is quiet and conducive to good sleep. The home is beautifully clean and well stocked with amenities to accommodate a family for a week. It is decorated so charmingly and one feels they are truly living the essence of Maine. The owners answered all questions in a very timely manner. My family of three truly enjoyed the week we spent there.

Wicked Pissah!

We are 4 teacher friends from SC that like to explore. The house was roomy, clean, nicely appointed, walkable and on a safe and quiet street. Any question we could possibly have was in a binder inside. The house was cute and updated nicely. The large kitchen was nice. We never felt crowded at all. We enjoyed Franklin Street as a home base as we explored the Maine coastline!

IDAHO SPUDS IN MAINE.

Very clean, good location, very quiet. Didn't figure out the heating situation until the last day. One thermostat was Farenheit, the other must have been Celsius. We didn't freeze but the two thermostats need to be on the same page with each other for guests to understand. But we would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Nice Home Close to Downtown

This was a very nice, older home, very nicely renovated. The kitchen is beautiful and has everything needed. The living room and outside sitting area are very cozy. The washer/dryer was appreciated and everything is clean throughout. I was aware there is no air conditioning, but in this older home, it can get a bit warm in the upstairs bedrooms. The windows in the master bedroom could not be opened, so we slept in the second bedroom with a window that opened. There are several fans available and we ended up using most of them. The five minute walk to downtown was nice and one we took on a couple occasions. The location is perfect to get to all the towns on the mid-coast of Maine.

Wonderful home away from home

Absolutely terrific home - a phenomenally well designed and equipped large kitchen, perfect for casual or gourmet cooks; everything from shelves filled with books to cupboards with games at your fingertips; efficient and thoughtfully designed bathrooms; comfortable bedrooms; quiet location; all immaculate and spotless. Fun in Rockland

My husband and I rented the house as we visited our son in the area. This home is very comfortable with plenty of room and a very nice kitchen, great for cooking in. The neighborhood is super quiet and it’s an easy 10 minute walk to downtown Rockland. We would definitely recommend this home and would stay here again!

Spacious, cozy place to stay in Rockland

My family really enjoyed staying at this extremely clean, spacious and lovely house. Furniture and beds were very comfortable. 1st floor bathroom with walk-in shower was great for my parents. Nice touches and decor. Kitchen is like new. Easy walk to Main Street, museums, restaurants and shops as well as a Walgreens. Short drive to grocery stores. Owner was quick to respond, very friendly and helpful. We were sad to have to pack up and leave. Staying here made our trip so much more enjoyable than your average hotel room - highly recommend!!!

Perfect for our Vacation

We were looking for a clean, safe comfortable and centrally located 2 bedroom/2bath VRBO for 2 couples. The Beautiful South End met our need. The home is recently renovated and well stocked home. We traveled north to Acadia and south to Portland. We also enjoyed visiting Camden, Samoset and Monhegan. The hostess was very responsive to questions. The only we issue we had outside control of hostess was hot temperatures with no air conditioning. They had fans to allow for very comfortable temp. at night. We were not there during the day.

Nice house in a great location

This was a really nice, well maintained and equipped house, conveniently located a short walk to Harbor Park. We stayed during Lobster Fest, and it was perfect to be able to walk to the festival every day. There were nice restaurants and little shops conveniently located within walking distance, and a short drive to the grocery store. It was a nice quiet neighborhood. While there's no A/C, there are plenty of floor and window fans, which generally were enough to make the place comfortable in the height of the summer heat. We would definitely recommend for anyone looking to spend some time in Rockland.

Anniversary Trip

First- Julie answered my call immediately when we could not get in and gave us immediate access when the code malfunctioned. It was pouring rain and was so sweet. Fixed the code right then and no issues at all. Such a beautiful home with updates and the quiet neighborhood was exactly what we needed. Thank you for a wonderful stay and I highly recommend!
