The Cottage and Noir Abode ( sleeps 15 people combined)

This property consists of two dwellings approx 80m apart with a central pool. There is a lovingly restored Mine Managers "Cottage" with all the modern conveniences., that sleeps 8. In addition, there is a new bespoke architecturally designed 3bdr room home with polished concrete floor with underfloor heating, that sleeps 7. -Called "Noir Abode-finished construction Feb 2024"

The homes are set on 50 acres, and your group would be the only guests. It is a perfect escape for family and friends, wedding and reunions. It’s also pet friendly.

It has a private 6-hole range golf course, challenging for all types of golfers, as well as dams with yabbies and perch.

There are BMX style jumps and tyre swings for the kids, along with 30 acres of groomed grass to safely wear the kids and pets out.

The pool and entertainment area are perfect for a sunset drink and swim, whilst taking in the beautiful views of the Broken Back Range.

We are in the heart of the concerts and award-winning restaurants in the Hunter Valley. Set just 2 km away from the Vintage Golf Course, the Bimbadgen Winery on MacDonald’s Road and a mere 6-minute drive to Hope Estate.

Concerts

The majority of concerts are held at Bimbadgen Estate (20 min walk away, 4-5 min drive), Hope Estate or Roche Estate which are both a 10 min drive away.

If you speak directly with Rover Coaches, they will do a pick up and drop off door to door. Unfortunately, they only run on the major concerts. Ensure you call them in advance to book your seat before they sell out. The coast of the coach fares is approx. $20 per person last time I checked.

Weddings, Engagements & Events at Sascha’s Retreat

Saschas Retreat is an ideal venue to hold relatively small and affordable weddings.
The guidelines are:

1 Naturally only 15 people can stay overnight across both properties (we are not a campsite for caravans, trailers or individual tents, as this requires additional council approval).

2. We have several wedding packages, for consideration, as we cater for small boutique weddings. Packages are available upon request. If you wish to hold a post-wedding BBQ the following day, there are no additional costs.

3. Our event organiser and stylist can remove a lot of the stress when planning an event. They are included in our packages and cater to a wide variety of events (weddings, cocktail parties, birthdays etc).

4. Marquees have been set up historically and we can introduce you to a local supplier, if you so desire.

7. Naturally, we don’t have kitchenware, glasses or cutlery to support additional guests. These will need to be organised by yourself, or hired (we can recommend a few event hire companies).

8 The external aspects of the property are covered by video surveillance.

9. There is an agreed time to when celebrations and music will finish (non-staying guests will vacate the property)

Great amenities to keep both adults and children entertained. The pool was a hit with the kids, the open spaces and two seperate houses ensured everyone was comfortable and had their own space. The host was quick to follow up with any questions and nothing was a bother to him.

This is a great place for a big group get together. We had 6 couples and fitted very well in the cottage and house. Paddock golf, a pool and everything to make a pleasant stay. We were 10 min away from the heart of the Hunter yet had the most peaceful location.

Great host and property. Family loved the stay and Stephen was super responsive and helpful. Was a shame about the bindies, as we couldn't walk barefoot and the dogs struggled, too. Outdoor needed a proper clean but a quick pressure wash fixed that.

Fantastic Location

Ideal for a large family gathering and the location is perfect for touring the Hunter Valley VineyardsWe were little disappointed, with the state of repair of the older house, it was in need of a bit of a refresh.The pool was fantastic, morning breakfast and afternoon drinks were very much enjoyed on the rear balcony, overlooking the property. In the mornings you can watch the kangaroos coming and going with the added spectacle of hot air balloons roaming the sky above

Perfect place for a family get-together

Sascha's retreat is in a beautiful location, closeby to all of the lovely wineries and experiences on offer around Pokolbin. The host, Stephen, was easy to communicate with and provided lots of local knowledge and tips to enhance our experience. There are two dwellings on the property; Noir Abode which is pretty flash! The other is a cottage, which has had some upgrades and is comfortable and clean. Other than a resident possum on the roof, we slept comfortably and the kids loved their time outdoors, riding bikes, swimming in the pool and playing by the dam. We thoroughly enjoyed the golf and would love to come and stay again in the future. Thank you, Stephen! The

Great place for family gathering.

The golf course was interesting but we had fun playing with both adults and children. Dam fascinated children who were trying to catch yabbies..no luck but they did see kangaroos. Swimming pool was well used and the shaded area with comfortable lounge chairs were great. Dogs loved the huge land area and actually were worn out as were the children riding bikes hitting golf balls and running around. Wonderful vista of the Balloons such a majestical sight.Good size entertaining verandah area with view down to green. Kitchen in cottage small and probably needs updating but plates, cutlery, pots pans, salad dishes etc in abundance. The new build was excellent and great view from the top balcony, Easy drive to all winerys and shops. Manager very helpful and we were fortunate to be able to get into new build 2 hours early and leave 1 hour later.

Great location for a Birthday long weekend! 10 friends for a chilled out Birthday celebration

always hot in February so the Pool was the best followed by the afternoon breeze & Air conditioning inside for a rest

Amazing Retreat

As a family of 9 with 2 little ones we wanted somewhere special to celebrate a 60th birthday where we could all be together.Sacha’s retreat was everything we asked for. Everyone had a spacious bedroom and there are bathrooms a plenty. We spent 4 days simply enjoying the tranquility. Swimming in the pristine pool and hitting some balls on the private golf course. Watching the kangaroos and marvelling at the display of hot air balloons in the early morning. The kitchens provided everything we needed to prepare meals and the BBQ was a great addition. Stephen was a great host, replying to any queries we had during our stay. His attention to detail was great and the emails containing info on directions and detailing the special aspects of the property were so helpful Quite simply an amazing property in a beautiful spot

Incredible location, gorgeous property, we'll be back!

Sacha's Retreat was an incredible stay, comfortably slept our large group with each couple getting their own space. All the amenities and appliances we could have ever needed, plus board games, lawn games, pantry basics, a BBQ and more! The cottage is classic and gorgeous and the abode is modern, and spaces but still very homey- not to mention the stunning views and pool. The property was easy to find and accessible for all vehicles- including our vineyard tour bus- and while being on acreage, was still close to local shops and other lovely wineries. The owner was lovely and very helpful too, very responsive and personable- we were able to check in early and check out late. The perfect spot for a getaway- we'll be back to Sacha's Retreat!

This property is the perfect retreat, close to wineries and shops for essentials and a lovely pool to swim in. The rooms are large and lovely and the aircon works a treat on hot days! Would definitely rent again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Stephen's property. The property had everything we required for our stay and it was a bonus having a pool on hot days. Great location, close to everything.
