3rd party booking problems

My wife has a corporate membership for Hyatt/Sheraton/Hilton and most other major hotels chains. I booked a last minute getaway for us on Hotels.com not knowing she had all these other memberships. Upon checking in, we wanted to use her membership, but this was not allowed because it was booked through a 3rd party. Had to pay $30 parking and a higher daily fee. If I cancelled, I would be charged 1 day rate. I understand that this is the policy, but because of Hyatt not willing to recognize any membership perks, this is discouraging me from wanting to book through a 3rd party again. I'm not sure if I would even want to book through Hyatt either due to the fact that we have been a loyal customer of theirs for years. In regards to the property, it's a bit outdated. The waterfront property is connected to the tidal system, so when it's low tide, the nicely reflected water looks more like a watering hole and a mud pit. On the positive side, there is plenty of room within the 2 bedroom suite with everything furnished. That being said, our conflict with the membership issue is a major concern and probably a deciding factor when booking our next getaway.

We stayed here before and it was a bit better. This was unfortunately one of the worst stays here. My family and I travelled to SF to celebrate my bday. Unfortunately it almost turned into a disaster. One of the showers never worked and it never got repaired during our stay. The carpet was full stains and very sticky. There was no toilet paper and finally the bed sheets looked dirty. Like I said, we stayed here before due to their 2 room suites but it seems that their rooms have taken a beaten since. The staff did offer to return our parking fee as a courtesy for the shower incident. But honestly, I’d rather pay for parking fee and have a working shower and clean carpet.

NOT a quality hotel

This was definitely NOT the same hotel as described online. Gaps in the exterior door so bad you could see light coming through in 3 areas. The bathroom door slides and it was so hard (because of rusty rollers) that you almost couldn’t get the door closed. There’s no handle on the door, so you had to put your fingers into the door’s inset areas and push as hard as you could as fast as you could push. Ridiculous that it was allowed to be this bad. The housekeeping service was sporadic and lousy. The refrigerator rattled every couple of hours and we noticed the ice maker was turned off. We turned it back on and though it solved the rattle, it wouldn’t stop dumping ice out. It obviously had something broken inside. The Manager of Housekeeping or the Hotel Manager should be fired. We reported the lack of housekeeping THREE times and had to get our own towels on 3 occasions even after confirming that our room was to be cleaned twice. Though we will be in this area again in the future, we will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Location convenient in that it is close to places on the Peninsula I wished to go to. There is a nice running/walking trail within a block of the hotel. Restaurants and shopping are close for driving, but not really convenient to walk to. Staff were friendly and helpful.
