My family and I lived in San Jose del Cabo for 5 years. Leaving right before the pandemic, we hadnât been back since 2019. When we went back a few weeks ago as a last family trip before our daughter moved to NY, we decided to go whole hog and rent Villa Tranquilidad.
The good:
1. The cleaning and cooking ladies were amazing, very accommodating, and prepared excellent meals.
2. The house is large and set up great for large groups who want privacy.
3. Has an elevator which is great for older ones who canât do stairs.
4. Sits right on the beach, even though you canât swim in the ocean.
The bad:
Puerto Los Cabos is a nice golf course community far on the backside of San Jose. We had good friends who lived in this exact neighborhood. They always had issues with internet not working and having water turned off. We figured since we were paying A LOT to stay in this house for 5 nights, theyâd not have these issues, but we were very wrong. The internet didnât work until the last day, they left us an unusable hot spot for the house, but it didnât do much except within 2-3 feet. The worst part was the water. We had no water 2-3 hours multiple times EACH day. One time my sister in law was in the shower with soapy hair when it went out. Since we lived there we knew the house had to have a cistern, so we emailed and asked for a water truck to come out with water. It came once and the caretaker came and told us it was broken.
Overall, we wonât stay here again.
