This is the first class property. And also first class staff. My wife and I bought a bottle of wine at dinner. By the end of dinner, we thought that we drank three bottles of wine. The reason why is because every time we took a sip or two the waiter would come and refill our glasses. Or I should say waiters. He was there so many times and was so attentive that we literally thought we drink three bottles of wine. It was a very beautiful experience. I was impressed with the property and the people.

It is impossible to truly convey the incredible experience we had at this hotel. The room was one of the most beautiful we have seen in over 40 years of traveling. The old world elegance, combined with modern amenities was unbeatable. The history and treasures of the hotel are significant, and a joy for those who value such things. We were there for five days, and decided our last day there just to stay at the hotel and enjoy the absolutely stunning gardens and pool/seaside area. There was not a single staff member in this hotel who was nos not giving 1000%, and it showed. The terraces are magnificent. Breakfast selections were vast, and they offer both casual terrace dining for a light meal, or full on dinner. Beautiful views in every direction. We came in by train and if you have luggage, we suggest the very short taxi ride. You can walk it, but it’s lots of (gorgeous) steps. If you have a chance to stay here, don’t miss this gem! Highest rating we can bestow any property!!!

This is a beautiful hotel with a lovely pool area right on the water. The views are stunning. Our biggest issue was with the beds. They are super hard/firm and incredibly uncomfortable. I would recommend testing the comfort of the bed before accepting a particular room.

Faultless experience! This beautiful hotel has the best views of Santa Margherita and Portfino. Our suite with balcony and sea views was spacious and beautifully decorated with 2 bathrooms and a separate sitting room. The staff were excellent and breakfast on the terrace was stunning. For 4 days in May 2025 it felt like a fairytale in a palace.

A magnificent luxury resort that is walkable to everything in the beautiful port town of Santa Margherita Ligure including the train station, shopping, ferries, dining. The staff is excellent and the rooms are exquisite. Truly an “La Dolce Vida” experience!

The staff is first class. Everyone is at the same "nice" level. The room was a great size in every sense. Quiet, as well. The amenities were located well and I used the pool, gym, beach, restuarant, the bar (again the bar). As per the food served, the breakfast was filled with very good meats, cheeses, pastries, different omelettes, bread, yogurt, and much more. There is a lot more compliment the Imperiale Palace, so it goes without saying...I will be back!

Letting the secret out the bag.. Best.Hotel.Ever.

Selfishly, this is a hotel that my wife and I would really prefer to keep to ourselves. But it’s just so brilliant in every way, that the people behind it need to be commended, and thanked, so here I go letting this secret out of the bag. The pictures online in no way do the hotel justice, but when you experience it in reality, one can understand why no picture can truly capture the essence of Imperiale Palace Hotel. This is a hotel frequented not by the Instagram crowd, but rather a high class yet relaxed mix of Italians and other Europeans. Being able to simply enjoy the hotel and its facilities without being surrounded by people constantly on their phones, looking for that perfectly posed picture, is absolutely energising for one’s soul. While it is impossible to discern one hotel highlight from another, the real stand out was the service and the total professionalism, yet engaging hospitality, of the staff at this hotel. From excellent fine dining cuisine, to probably the most delicious breakfast spread we have experienced across Europe, and then to the private beach at the Mediterranean water’s edge with quite simply the most spectacular view across the Gulf of Tigullio, makes this hotel one which we hope to return to many times in the future. We are grateful to every staff member who made our stay truly feel like home. From the front-desk welcome we received when checking in, to every touch point across restaurants, bars, pool and beach sides.. we say thank you!

About as good of a stay as you can get in Italy. We would recommend it. Three things we didn’t love that aren’t deal breakers but worth noting; - TVs in the room are from 2015 and are laughably small. They also constantly lose cable access - Pool and Beach drink service is terrible. They come around to the chairs maybe 4x in a whole day, so you have to constantly take trips up to the bar yourself. They also serve everything in cheap plastic cups that cause the drinks to warm up way too quickly - Pool and Beach chairs are very old and uncomfortable, especially if you’re taller than 5’10. They do have a face shade which is nice for reading through
