York Lane Carriage House is a secluded retreat perfect for a romantic weekend getaway.
Located on the second floor, this spacious one-bedroom apartment offers exceptional comfort and convenience for two Lucky Savannah guests. Centrally located, all of Savannah’s rich history, excellent restaurants, entertainment venues, museums and shops just steps away.

With a thousand square feet of living space, attractive furnishings, and large east, south and west-facing windows, York Lane Carriage House is bright and inviting. The living room has plenty of space to sit and relax while watching the large flat screen TV. Open to the living room, the fully equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need during your stay and the nearby dining table is the perfect spot to plan your day. This property has a washer and dryer, making it ideal for extended stays. After a long day of sightseeing, you’ll come back to snuggle up under the blankets of the king sized bed.

The city’s most sought after attractions – bustling River Street, Broughton Street shopping, Telfair Museum, Lucas Theater, the Cathedral, Forsyth Park and more – are all within easy walking distance. Whether you want to create your own pancakes at the Funky Brunch Cafe, or enjoy an Old Fashioned Ice Cream Soda and Leopold’s Ice Cream, you’ll be in a great location to explore all Savannah has to offer.

Arriving guests please note that despite its central location, some GPS systems don’t recognize East York Lane or mislabel it as East York Street. The entrance to the apartment is at 425 East York Lane, which is different from and directly behind 425 East York Street. The Lane, which does not have a separate street sign, is a broad, paved, well-lighted service road that runs parallel to – and between – Oglethorpe Street and East York Street and between Habersham and Price Streets.

Parking for this home is on-street and metered, with enforcement by the City of Savannah Monday through Saturday, 8am to 8pm. Guests may conveniently pay using the ParkSavannah app, feed the meter or parking kiosks directly, or utilize a nearby public parking garage. Pre-paid visitor parking passes are available for purchase at the Parking and Mobility Services office. Please take note of posted Sweep Zone signs when parking on the street.

This apartment was perfect! As a homebody who doesn’t like to travel frequently, I felt very comfortable in this place. It was extremely clean, set up like a beautiful staged home, location was very convenient (parks and restaurants close by, but far enough away to keep the noise level down) and parking was always easily accessible within very close range (within a few doors down). I couldn’t have asked for more!

Perfect Getaway Spot for Two!

Couldn’t have stayed at a better location. The property is close enough to walk to City Market, River St, and other points of interest , but just far enough that you won’t have to deal with all the crazy noise coming from those areas. We were able to find parking around the property every night
and that was during the 4th of July weekend. The property was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed to keep it that way -laundry detergent, dish soap, and dishwasher detergent. They also provided us with sets of clean towels and small containers of personal higiene items. To the manager (s): I would allow guests to decide how low they want the A/C to be at. We could not set thermostat any lower than 68 degrees, which is considered warm for us specially through the night.

Nice place in a great locale if you want to walk everywhere and see the sights of old town Savannah. Perfect place by great food and all the historical sights you want to see when in Savannah for a weekend. Clean and comfortable. Free parking on the side street.

There are a few things that I definitely think could be done for future guests. There really needs to be some extra blankets. It is nice to snuggle under blankets in the living room to watch tv, without having to remove them from the bed. Speaking of tv, upgrade to a smart tv so people can access their streaming services. And speaking of tv again, putting one in the armoire in the bedroom to be able to watch tv in bed. Maybe put a few extra wash clothes in the bathroom, and or towels for that matter. It's not a hotel where you can call down to the front desk to have them bring them up. The rug in the living room is terrible. It is hard on your feet to walk on it.I would give this stay at 3.5 rating I would say. Definitely could have used a little more hospitality feel. The other VRBO I have stayed at have a few bottles of water in the fridge and a few snacks on the counter. This was definitely more like a hotel stay kind of feel to the house.It was decent walking distance to all places.

Perfect home base for Savannah visit

The property was perfect for our visit to Savannah. Conveniently located to everything in the historic district we were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go. Quiet neighborhood to go back to at night. The property had everything we could have needed or wanted. Will stay again.

Birthday Weekend

The property was the perfect place for me and my husband to spend the weekend for my birthday. It is close to everything but just far enough to where it is quiet at night. Which made it perfect after a long day and night out and about. Would definitely stay there again.

Don't believe Lucky Savannah advertising!!!

Ad stated "This unit has one private parking space behind the home". This was a big reason we booked the unit. After finding out there was no private parking we contacted Lucky Savannah and they denied that the ad stated this. We made a copy of the ad and sent it to them on 11/18/23. Still no response from them as of 12/1/23.

10 year anniversary getaway

The carriage house was wonderful. It was close to everything and check in and out was a breeze. We were able to do our laundry which was nice. The water pressure was amazing! Beds were comfortable, the only complaint would be the sheets don’t quite fit the bed well and the corners come up. We would definitely stay here again.

Clean, adorable carriage house

This was a wonderful experience. There is a flight of stairs up to the living accommodations but they were not an obstacle. We loved the clean, well kept carriage house. It had all the essentials and they were easy to find. We walked to everything we did in downtown Savannah without any trouble. The entrance is more of an alley than a street (think carriage house) but it was well lit and felt safe. We parked nearby in a free spot, though many spots nearby were paid parking. The paid parking spots were easily managed through the Savannah parking app. Checking in and out was seamless and information was easy to follow. Savannah is a great city and our carriage house was a perfect place to regroup.

Perfect Location

Perfect location! Within a 15 minute walk of most of the main attractions. It was very clean, spacious and well kept and we felt safe. Only negatives are you have to pay for parking unless you can get one of four free spots nearby on Price St., and it is on the second floor if you have trouble with stairs.Which we did a few days. We only had to drive to play golf and to go to the beach on Tybee Island. We would stay there again for sure.

Loved it!

Great location, we walked all over the city and left our car in our spot until the last day when we drove to Tybee Island. Amenities were perfect for us, room temp was easy to control. Super clean. We struggled a little finding the entrance because we weren't familiar with the area. Didn't realize it was more of an alley to get to the front door. Not a huge deal, I think we didn't read the directions as closely as we should :)

Large, bright and comfortable apartment

We enjoyed our one week stay very much despite chilly and sometimes rainy weather, because the apartment was large, bright, comfortable, well equipped, and centrally located in the beautiful historic district. We could go anywhere on foot, and almost never used our car. We found free parking spots on Price St., as other guests mentioned before us. To contact the Lucky Savannah rental agency, though, we had to go through their own application (Hospitality) and not the VRBO web site, which was confusing. We first e-mailed them through VRBO with a request, but received no answer. We then contacted them through their own application, and they responded very promptly.

Quiet and convenient

Pros- location is convenient to the historic area. It is off an alley so the unit is quiet. Cons- It is an upstairs unit with no elevator so requires you to climb a steep staircase. You might want to pack in 2 small bags instead of one large. There is no parking. Arrive early and buy the 2 day pass from the Visitor center. The garages were full when we arrived the first night. The WiFi was not connecting at all our last morning. I also would prefer a book with instructions rather than an app.

Spontaneous visit

We had an unexpected change in our plans on our way to spend a few weeks near Charleston, SC. We were able to book the York House so we stay there for several days. This is a wonderful place to stay, spacious, clean, comfortable king size bed, well decorated and well located to everything. We had no problem parking on the street and once parked, we walked everywhere except for one time with a Lyft. I would stay here again and would highly recommended the York House for a wonderful stay in Savannah. Linda and Walt Bergren
