Welcome to The Great Escape, hosted by Simple Life Rentals! This custom-built log home has been updated throughout and offers private land, views of the bay and is just minutes from downtown Sister Bay.



The Space:

Enjoy sitting on the front porch or overlook the expansive view from the two balconies this home offers. The sun-filled property offers an open concept great room with vaulted ceilings, wood beams, exposed log wall and beautiful stone floor-to-ceiling fireplace. Additionally, the home includes first and second floor bedrooms and bathrooms, a second-floor loft area with a sectional sofa that opens to a full size bed, a full kitchen with snack bar, dining area and work desk as well as first floor laundry. The 5 acres of land provides guests a private retreat as they enjoy the central location to explore all the beauty and adventure Door County has to offer.



Updates:

- All new exterior paint showcasing this gorgeous log home.

This home is located in a quiet community with neighbors and is geared towards quiet family vacations. Due to the proximity of neighbors and municipal restrictions, we cannot accommodate parties at the property including bachelor or bachelorette parties, reunions, weddings, or other gatherings.



Property is equipped with a decibel and smoking monitoring sensor located inside and outside of the home.



Please be aware that you must sign a terms and conditions agreement, which will be sent to you separately, to finalize your reservation.



Other Things to Note:

Amenity + damage protection waiver includes:

• Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)

• A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.

• PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

It was the perfect cabin to come back to after our days of exploring. The nap on the relaxing front porch, the private & magical trials were just a few highlights to make this a hidden gem. The inside was perfect in every way.

Beautifully updated cabin... all the amenities we needed, and very clean. Love the location... peaceful and quiet... easy drive to many lovely restaurants, peninsula state park, etc. Couldn't ask for anything more. Will certainly look to stay here again on our next trip to door county.

Great Stay

This is a beautiful, tastefully decorated, well appointed cabin. It’s tucked away at the end of a private residential road…a really nice, quiet place to unwind after a day of exploring. The space is open, modern, and clean. We enjoyed the light walking trail by the house, which was lined with flowers. The location is very convenient. Definitely a great place to stay!

Very clean, well-appointed house. Had everything you need for a comfortable stay. The house has A/C and you might consider updating your listing with new pictures as a lot of really nice updates were done to the exterior of the house.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Great Escape! Thought the Great Dane theme was cute and there was a ton of extra for our big family like the toddler bed and pack and play and lots of extra linens. We cooked one big meal and it had pretty much everything we needed. Had fast response team from management when anything was needed.

beautiful house, beautiful location

We really enjoyed being within a 15 min drive to most of the bays in the area. Admittedly, we weren't at the house much during the day, but it is a great quiet spot to end a long day of fun. The property was very clean and obviously well cared for. As someone who likes their privacy, it doesn't get much better than this.

Great stay

Super clean and great for 2-3 people. My mom and I enjoyed the patios and seeing the deer in the evening. We had a great stay and would love to come back. Please note there *IS* an AC wall unit upstairs and it helped keep the house cool even though it wasn’t central air. VRBO Property manager had said there wasn’t AC so that was confusing.

Great experience at The Great Escape

The Great Escape offered a clean, well decorated, comfortable home while we toured Door County, Wisconsin. We enjoyed having a full kitchen in which we could prepare our on meals as well as hiking paths around the property to enjoy the outdoors. A couple of minor issues occurred, and the property manager responded immediately and was very helpful. The location is ideal for exploring the northern portion of Door County. We enjoyed our time at the great escape with our two adult children.

Quiet Log Cabin Style Home

We enjoyed staying at this property! I The log cabin style architecture was very fun, the furniture was comfortable, and it was at the end of a very quiet private road. Being just a few minutes outside of Sister Bay made it very convenient to get to everything, especially Washington Island which was a fun adventure. The fast wireless Internet allowed one of our party to get in a required day’s work. The only downside was that there was no central air, just a single window unit in the upstairs with a ceiling fan to blow it downstairs. Also, we found the thick foam toppers on the bed to be too hot and too soft for our particular taste. Overall, it was wonderful, though!

Cute Cottage

Loved our stay. Had everything we needed. My only complaint would be it's a 2 bedroom, not a 3 bedroom, and there was not any air conditioning, but it did get cooler at night and made sleeping bearable. Would stay here again.
