The tale of two taxis
Friendly arrival for our two day stay. But...at the restaurant we had to find a person to seat us or to make drinks. One person was able to make a mai tie the other two needed assistance. On the morning we checked out were between breakfast and lunch I was unable to order lunch until closer to 12:00. We asked the hotel to book us a taxi to the airport and the 'taxi' was a beatup car with no seatbelts and no air conditioning. The driver said he needed to go get gas first and then continue to the airport. We were feeling uncomfortable and made up a reason to return back to the jetty after he finished putting in fuel into the car. He took us back and unloaded our luggage and we waited for a better taxi to take us to the airport. The other taxi was much better - it was clean, had seat belts and air con. However, the hotel taxi driver saw we moved into another taxi and he came after us with his car and demanded why we are in this other taxi. It was threatening and scary but our new taxi driver put us at ease and the agressive taxi driver drove off. Shame on Double Tree to allow this type of taxi service.
