I hope you are your families are well. Many of you have heard about hurricane Melissa and the devastation it caused in parts of Jamaica. What is happening now, however, is a misconception that the entire Island is affected or "closed", and as a result, many guests are cancelling out of concern or uncertainly.
The truth is that much of Jamaica, including our area, remains open and fully operational. And is actually the time when our island needs visitors the most. Tourism is our strongest sector, and when travellers continue to come, it directly supports the communities that are working ti rebuild. Every booking helps families, small businesses, farmers, drivers, and so many others who rely on the industry! SettleDown Villa is a 3 Bedroom, stairs enclosure home with Private Plunge Pool (not a hot tub) and daily cook & housekeeping. It is safe with 24 hours security. This is not a 24 hours full service villa.

SettleDown is a sweet spot gem with amazing views of the mountain on one side and the ocean on the other. There’s a gentle breeze with a large patio set in a tropical garden; the front lawn was used in the filming of the 2016 Season 20 finale of the Bachelor with Ben Higgins at Chukka Cove Polo Club!

Conveniently located between the resort towns of Ocho Rios and Runaway Bay off Jamaica's North Coast highway, and tucked away at Chukka Cove Polo Club, SettleDown Villa 2 provides unique access to a truly Jamaican experience.

SettleDown villa sits in a lovely groomed area shared with only five other villas. Here in rural Jamaica, you may wake up to the sound of roosters, sometimes hear the neighboring dogs barking before bedtime; can listen to the crickets and frogs songs at night. So immerse yourself in the real Jamaica and soak your cares away. A safe place to vacation without being locked in a compound like the mega All Inclusive hotels!

This private gem has a first, second and third bedroom all with full en-suite bathrooms on the upper level. The large open covered veranda leading into the cozy dining room which seats 6; the kitchen, pantry, outdoor bar, powder room and its very own private plunge pool - all located on the ground level.

The cliffs at Chukka Cove are dramatic and extensive, great for exploring or simply listening to the sound of the waves crashing ashore. On calm days, a ladder takes you into the cool clear waters. On property is a small sandy cove, safe and perfect for young children to swim and play or for sun-tanning. On days when the sea swells up and you seek calmer waters, a two minute walk east along the edge of the polo field takes you to the spectacular Chukka Cove, a sheltered bay where the waters are always calm and cliff jumping, swimming and snorkelling are a must.

* Friendly and attentive staff provide housekeeping and meal preparation services. Staff arrives daily to keep SettleDown villa2 spotless and prepare authentic Jamaican dishes. Groceries and tips are extra, and at your cost.

* VIP arrangements for pre-stocked groceries with delivery services from L & M supermarket. Of Course, you are always welcome to shop yourselves at other supermarkets ~not included in our rates~ and at your cost.

* Arrangement of airport transfers (closest airport is Montego Bay, Jamaica) can be arranged on your behalf with our professional and friendly experienced licensed drivers, as well as off-site trips into town for shopping. The house is incredibly clean and comfortable. Pauline is absolutely lovely, and tended to all of our needs. And Chukka Cove, which might me one of the loveliest spots on the entire North Coast is just spectacular. We'll be back!

Paradise

It was a dream location with the sound of the sea bringing a calm and relaxing feel to the stay. The surroundings were stunning, lots of birds and incredible plants. The sea was perfectly clear and the snorkelling was absolutely amazing. I just loved the views. The staff were incredible and really went out of their way to help. Anthony and Andrew were fantastic and between them took us to the bat cave which was magical, and other areas of interest, as well as to the nearby beach. Miss P was a fantastic cook and really helped us feel at home, nothing was too much trouble and she went out of her way to help us celebrate our daughters’ birthdays whilst we were out there. It’s the perfect base to explore the area and the most perfect place to relax. I can’t recommend it enough and would return in a heartbeat.

Lovely Villa

Very well maintained villa. The housekeeper, Pauline, was friendly, and her cooking was delicious. Would have liked to utilize the small beach area for the kids, but it wasn't conducive at the time. Lovely property, and the protected cove is perfect for more advanced swimmers. Would definitely recommend and repeat visit!!

65th Birthday Celebration & Girl’s Trip

Words can’t describe how beautiful this property is. I celebrated my 65th birthday with three of my friends and we had an amazing time. Pauline was the sweetest and a gourmet chef ! Tony was a great guide and showed us all the perks of the property !Andrew protected the grounds and made sure we felt safe at all times. Piepie was available for any needs and made sure to get us wherever we needed to be. The communication with the host was seamless . I will definitely be back again !

Nice Peaceful Stay

We spent a total of 10 days at the SettleDown villa and it did not disappoint. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our anniversary so we wanted a nice location and this was it. The property is amazing and very peaceful. I want to give a special shout out to Mrs. Pauline who went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one! Her food preparation and attention to detail are unmatched! Our 12 month old daughter clung to her and felt comfortable which made the trip that much more enjoyable as it felt as if we were with family. Mrs. P was even instrumental in our daughter taking her first steps by herself and freely walking! Communication with the hosts was fairly easy and the response time was really good. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return for our next vacay!

Perfection

The house was exactly as advertised and the property was so fun we hardly left it (and we are typically adventurers!). Cliff jumping, snorkeling, Bat-cave, gorgeous swimming pool, sunsets, amazing food and incredible views. Why would we wander anywhere else! Our chef and housekeeper was a highlight of our trip with a smile that brightened up every room and delicious meal after meal.

secluded bliss

This beautiful villa is one of six on a cliff overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Sea. There is path and ladder access to the water, a shared pool with high end loungers and a cute covered sitting area by the pool when you're wanting to look out at the water. We loved the ample well appointed outdoor covered living area with fans to keep the air moving. We spent all our time at the villa outside listening to the waves. Pauline took great care of us, served excellent Jamaican meals as we requested and came shopping with us to the local market in St Anne's Bay. This is my second visit to the villas at Chukka and I will be returning for sure.

Beautiful Property but
 BE VERY CAUTIOUS WHEN BOOKING!

When my wife and I looked this property over in 2021 we were thrilled to stay here! We booked instantly and couldn't wait to vacation back to my homeland of Jamaica. Well, we had several bumps in the road during my stay which caused me to give this property a 3-star rating and give my absolute honest opinion. I'll start with the highlights. The property is beautiful and looks exactly like the photos. Ms. P is AMAZING and her food is everything you would imagine it to be. She's the main reason my review is more stars than I would normally leave for the situations that occurred and the pools. However, Marc/Trish are NOT professional renter owners and I didn't appreciate how they handled what happened. I lost electricity (power) and water usage during my stay and a few other mishaps took place. Normally, any owner, sub-lessor or even a resort would accommodate their guests in such a way that is satisfying and pleasurable for the guest. Well, in this case, I was told that because I was "bitter" they preferred not to handle the situation professionally and rather ignore my requests as a guest. If you are not ready to handle 'rural Jamaica" as Trish mentioned in a prior message to me, keep looking for a better home with a back-up generator. especially for the amount of money you pay. There's no ice available on the property. Maybe for the 1st two nights but that's about it. The water dispenser dies at times.BRING BATTERIES just in case. The remote for the ONE tv is TRASH.

Rest, Relaxation, Serenity!

This was an amazingly relaxing trip. We received clear communication in advance to prepare for our trip. Our driver, Pie Pie was professional. The Villa was as described and very clean which was an absolute priority. We ate and we rested. The bed was comfortable. Ms. P was amazing! She spoiled us with all the wonderful food she served us. Her wonderful cooking and conversation made our experience awesome. She prepared ox tails, curry goat, curry shrimp, rice and peas, shrimp quesadilla, fried snapper and more! Yummy! Andrew served as security and an excellent tour guide around the property. Martin gave us some shells from the ocean. The spa pool was amazing. The view and the sound of the ocean were phenomenal! I would definitely go back!

Every bit true and amazing!

The SettleDown property is everything as described and more! The pictures are accurate and you are steps away from the ocean. The property is conveniently located on the north side of the island. We had so many options for excursions, landmarks, and places to go. There is security on the meticulous property and thanks to Ms P running things, it feels like a home away from home. Marc and Trish were great hosts and were very accommodating. We’d definitely come again!!

3 Couples Vacation

We stayed at Settle Down for 10 glorious days. The home is beautiful and the view is the best of all the homes we have stayed in Jamaica. What made our stay over the top was Ms Pauline. Her cooking and attention to detail is top notch. We are a group that's in their 60's and spent a great deal at the home and on property. Andrew the security guy always made us feel very safe. We definitely will return. The one thing that has changed in Jamaica is the price of food. Be prepared to spend twice as much than in the US. We used the market the house recommended, but purchased the majority of the food from a market in town, which was cheaper. I have been coming to Jamaica for over 40 years and have watch the changes, but this home takes you back to the authentic Jamaica. Marc/Trish was easy to work with and answered emails quickly. You will not be disappointed with this property.

The backyard Ocean Scene was amazing. Ms Pauline was awesome with everything she accommodated us with. Her cooking was awesome we really appreciated her. As for groceries I think you guys set up she be arranged better.

We highly recommend this property!

Everything was just as pictured and described. The villa and our time there was better than we imagined. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of and we felt safe while staying here. Pauline is a real gem. Her cooking is out of this world, and she took very good care of us. She is a true asset. All the staff we encountered were cordial and friendly. Prior to our arrival, we had ongoing communication with Trish, who arranged our airport pick-up and the delivery of the food and drinks we ordered. Trish always responded quickly. We also used the local mobile spa, SP Aroma–Therapeutic Healing Hands (their brochure is in the villa). Sandra and her team are very professional and thorough. We had Sandra and Malita for our massages and mani pedi, and Melissa Absalam for lash extensions. We would use them all again. As for transportation, the villa does have access to independent drivers. We used them a few times but preferred to use a company we researched, Best Jamaica Day Tours (Shamelia, Leroy and Dainian Austin). We used them for a private tour and private transportation back to the airport. Jamaica Day Tours far exceeded our expectations (courteous, professional, very knowledgeable including history, know their way around, good & clean air-conditioned vehicles, enjoyable to travel with, accommodating, reasonably priced & felt very safe with them). Without hesitation, we recommend this property and the service providers mentioned. We also intend on returning next year.

The property site was absolutely stunning. Just what the doctor ordered. We want to know about renting multiple villas at the same time and having our chef to oversee everything for us! She was absolutely endearing. AND we still miss her!!

Most Relaxing Vacation Location Ever!

Everything about this property screams dream vacation. The views from the porch and bedroom windows are spectacular. The property is meticulously maintained by the knowledgeable gardener, Martin, and his crew. We enjoyed the tour he took us on and his description of the local plants. Pauline was an excellent cook and had a great sense of humor. Philip made us feel safe and secure. We felt very spoiled from the minute we were picked up by Pipi at the airport until he returned us there safely. Absolutely recommend this property!
