Huron Inn

Pros: The price was really reasonable, the rooms were very clean, it was close to the lake and many amenities.
Cons: The beds were a little uncomfortable and they were having problems with the wifi during our stay but they were having someone come out to look at it
Location: The hotel was in St. Ignace where it was only a short trip to many restaurants and the lake. Across the bridge, there were many attractions to visit.
My husband I stayed here for a trip a 2 day trip to St. Ignace. When we checked in, we discovered that the price was actually cheaper than what were quoted online which was great. We didn't have much contact with the staff, but they seemed friendly enough.

Excellent comfortable stay

Pros: Small, friendly and reasonably priced
Very friendly owners. Convenient location, not far from the ferry docks. Lake just one block away.

Nice retro hotel close to local attractions.

Motel allowed easy access to ferries, food, and local attractions. Motel was clean and it was obvious owners took pride in their motel. Room was as advertised. Mattress in room was only negative. Mattress had obvious sag in the middle and we found ourselves rolling to the center of mattress.

you get what you pay for

The price was right for what I needed, a place to sleep in between driving. Just two comments on room front door was broken and curtain was held up with a clothes pin

Great Lakes Getaway

Pros: It was clean, the owners were on-site and engaged with the property's care, and the price was very reasonable.
Cons: The only issue--which had more to do with the region/time of year in general than the peoperty--were the aggressive mosquitos.
Location: Downtown St. Ignace; next door to Shepler's and Star Line ferry departures to Mackinac Island; Canada is 50 miles north via I-75.
I had some vacation time and wanted to do a road trip to the Great Lakes centered around Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Using travel websites, I selected hotel arrangements along the way including Huron Inn. Huron Inn is a charming motor court-style hotel structure which has been well-kept. It's very convenient to downtown St. Ignace and the very-attentive owners live on-site. They know the area and are great ambassadors for making the most of your stay.
