We stayed in Sandcastle 3 for 8 nights. 4 adults and 3 teenagers. The condo itself was nice and in a great location. Close to Clearwater and treasure island and st Pete . The oceanfront views from the balcony were amazing especially sunrise and sunsets. Tons of great restaurants in the area. The beach in this area is awesome. Will definitely return to sandcastle in Indian Shores. We had an awesome time.
We appreciated the new refrigerator and newer stove. Kitchen was moderately stocked. We loved the large table that fit all of our family comfortably. The beds were comfortable. There were plenty of bath towels and washcloths. The couches were comfortable. We were asked to close the metal balcony blinds at night due to sea turtles. Unfortunately 3 of the 5 blinds were broken. Also, a blind slat was missing from the master suite. We called about these two issues along with an ant infestation in the condo. Unfortunately our call was sent to a voicemail and was not returned. The parking is a inadequate. There is minimal space to get in and out without major maneuvering. Also there is only one entrance/exit into the property. We enjoyed our time together but this facility isnât as nice as others weâve stayed at and we wonât be going back.
The condo property was nice but there was a very rowdy group of adults who monopolized the pool and yelled until 10:00 pm. The shower could use new shower door and there were some issues with plumbing in the master bathroom. It was very nice that the owners left beach chairs for us to use. The view of the ocean was amazing!
Unit 304 at Sand Castle III definitely didnât disappoint. It was conveniently located between Clearwater and Madeira Beach where we typically spend the most of our time shopping and eating. The condo itself was clean and well equipped with plenty of kitchenware, beach chairs, a cooler, umbrellas, etc. The pool and hot tub area were very well kept and the grounds were nicely manicured. The condo itself could use some updates (master bathroom toilet tank didnât fill sometimes, loose ceramic tile in the hallway, A/C ran constantly and furnace filter was clogged solid) Overall we had a wonderful 10-day vacation and 7 of us felt very comfortable in the condo. Thank you!
âąSaturday lamp was missing knob so it had to be plugged/unplugged to turn it on/off
âąSaturday night through Wednesday morning the refrigerator/freezer is not up to the correct temperature. There was a sign on the refrigerator that said to give 24-48 hrs to get to proper temp. Tuesday we were out of the condo for most of the day. So Wednesday morning I called Plumlee Maintenance to inform them of the issues.
âą Tuesday we found cockroaches. 1 in bathroom, 1 in master bedroom and 1 on the balcony.
During my conversation Wednesday with maintenance they quickly sent someone to fix the lamp. Then I was told that I did not see cockroaches but rather Palmetto Bugs. After a google search the following can be easily found.
What is a Palmetto Bug?
Palmetto bug is a general name that is commonly used to refer to American cockroach (Periplaneta americana). The American cockroach is a species of cockroach and is sometimes called the Bombay canary or flying waterbug
Someone came Wednesday afternoon to look at our refrigerator. It was determined that we would need a new refrigerator. The earliest, one could be installed would be Friday. At this point most of our food had spoiled. The lady that I spoke with from Plumlee said that they would reimburse us from our trips to the grocery store on our first night of vacation. We are very thankful for their generosity in doing that.
âąWednesday afternoon/evening the elevator in the building would go down but not up. Another call was made to maintenance. The elevator was not fixed until the next morning.
âą Friday morning we get a knock on our door around 9:30 (as we are packed up and ready to head to the beach for our last day) from a very kind man telling us the new refrigerator should be here at 9:45. (There was no call that morning to tell us what time this was happening so that we had some sort of warning). I had to drop everything I was doing. Clean out the refrigerator/freezer of what was left in it. Run to the store to get bags of ice. Rush back to start filling the cooler and the sink with our food and pouring ice over them. We were told by Plumlee employees not to open the refrigerator for 4-6 hours so that it could get to the correct temperature. Cooking was not possible. Asked for reimbursement of lunch/dinner for the day. They reimbursed lunch but refused dinner. There was an issue that loomed over every day of our vacation. Very disappointed.
On the plus side the beach was lovely.
