Ski Trail Lodge 1 - A spacious home set on the hillside, enjoying expansive views and offering up excellent interior spaces for groups and large families. Featuring 5 bedrooms, 4.5 bathrooms - this is a fabulous home for ski trips, family reunions, wedding accommodation, bike trips etc. You'll appreciate the lovely light throughout the house and open living spaces with high ceilings and exposed woodwork. Views from the deck and living room are incredible and panoramic.

Just down the road, a mere 100-yard walk is access to the beginner's ski slope and hiking and biking trails in the summer.

The property is a true ski in/out and the views from the deck are amazing. We had numerous issues with the property that made our stay disappointing. For the price we paid, the below issues should have been addressed before our arrival. 1.As soon as we entered the property, we found a fire alarm/CO2 alarm beeping in the living room (addressed quickly)2.We had a baby with us who required a bath. The tub on the ground level did not drain along with any of the ground level showers (fixed the day before our departure although we notified maintenance on the second day). 3.The dishwasher was not mounted and came out of the enclosure whenever you pulled to open the door. It also only had a quick cycle (did not clean the dishes well) and an intense pro-wash cycle (took 3 hours) – normal cycle did not work.4.Clothes washer tub was not balanced and was extremely noisy with every load, even very small loads.5.Only had plates, coffee cups, wine glasses for eight or less people when our reservation was for 12 (addressed the day after we arrived).6.On the second day another alarm started beeping outside the upstairs bedroom (thankfully fixed same day).7.All drawers in the upstairs bedroom dresser fall out when opened.8.There is a small gas leak at the meter – smell of gas and high-pitched noise9.Internet was spottyOn the positive side the property was well stocked with towels, TP, Kleenex, Dishwasher Pods, etc. The hot tub was also clean and very nice.

Poor handling of situation

The property was as advertised and very clean, however we had an unfortunate situation one night which was not dealt with well. We came back to the house one night around 1045pm and one of the bedroom doors had locked itself. Upon inspection, the knob had a tiny hole where people had clearly tried to jam Bobby pins/keys to force it open so this has happened before. We followed the paper instructions and called the security office. The person working there was incredibly dismissive and told us maintenance wouldn’t be available. We explained we needed to get in as there was time sensitive medication inside. He finally drove over and agreed to call maintenance 30 minutes later who at this point was 47 miles away. Ultimately we were able to open it ourselves just before midnight with a butter knife - we saw markings on the door (photo attached) where people had clearly tried to break in before. Unfortunate situation with this terrible communication and no warning of the faulty door at check-in.

Best view in Steamboat

This house is simply amazing. We had a family gathering here, and not only did the house accommodate our immediate family, but we were able to have guests join us on the huge deck with the best view in Steamboat of the Yampa Valley. The place was clean, well-appointed and the kitchen was great for cooking big meals. We would love to come back to this property!

Ski in/Ski Out with a large deck

The house was amazing for our yearly get-together. It was close to the slopes and had a nice alrge deck with a grill for us to enjoy our time after the ski day. We were all comfortable in the spacious areas as well.

Reservation issues but they made it right.

Pioneer Ridge messed up my reservation and double booked this house which I had booked through VRBO, however they gave us a nicer house for our stay at the same cost due to their mistake. For the most part, with one exception, everyone I spoke with was very friendly and helpful. I would stay with them again.

Spacious, well located ski house

Our family of 10 greatly enjoyed or stay over Christmas. The house is well designed with 4 bedrooms downstairs, one upstairs and a large open area upstairs with two living rooms, a dining area, and a large kitchen. The property is not truly “ski in ski out” in that a trail does not go by the house. But the Christie Chair has a midpoint station close to the road that leads to the house 5 to 10 minutes away. Alternatively one can use the free Van service to get to the lift or elsewhere in Steamboat. The house is well equipped and features a cowboy decor. The rental agency was responsive to problems that arose. For instance the refrigerator stoped working. Another refrigerator was installed in the garage in a few hours as a temporary solution while the primary unit was fixed a day later. The hot tub and large deck are a plus as well as the two car enclosed garage.

Destination wedding weekend!

This house was amazing and fit our needs completely. It did get a little warm in the afternoon because of no air conditioning but cooled off nicely in the evening. It was well stocked in regards to the kitchen and plenty of towels for everyone. We especially enjoyed the extra large deck with the fire pit cans hot tub! The views were spectacular!

Great View, Clean Home

The house was very nice, clean, and well decorated, but I felt a little disappointed to find out when we got there that this is not a single house. It's 2 houses attached. Granted this part of the house has a great deck with a view, but the smaller deck would be a different reservation. You'll also notice in the photo of the property the two red garage doors. Well, there are actually 4 doors. Two for our reservation, two for the other reservation. Also, this home has no A/C. When we first arrived the windows were closed, and it was very warm. We were lucky that there were fans in the home, and it wasn't as warm in the afternoons during our stay. When it was warmer (our first and last days there, you could feel it). I would also recommend that the owners get new Queen mattresses for both of those bedrooms as we felt they were a little worn (we ended up in the center). Overall, it wasn't uncomfortable for us as the night times were cool and we had the fans strategically placed to bring in the cool air. There were plenty of rooms and bathrooms for our group. The view on the spacious deck and the hot tub were both enjoyable for our group as well. Extra towels for the hot tub was a plus. Also, when I called (and texted) for items, there was a quick response and resolution.

Epic deck and valley view

We had a great stay. The house is well stocked, but we spent most of our time apres ski out on the deck and in the hot tub. The views are spectacular. Also super quick walk to hill and a quick ski down to the Gondola.

Excellent Stay Overall!

The property was as advertised, huge deck, great views and nice amenities. The only issue we had was with the check in as the property wasn’t ready so we had to wait. Then when they finally gave us the code we showed up and the cleaners were still there. The cleaning job was maybe 8/10 as we did find some small items throughout the house that weren’t disposed of properly but nothing major. Also the main TV remote was missing and the microwave didn’t work but someone came out straight away and got all of that fixed right up so the service was EXCELLENT when we contacted them. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking, short walk over to the slopes was no issue at all.

Wonderful property - highly recommend

We rented for our extended family and had 12 adults stay here. It was perfect for us. Great family areas, kitchen was also perfect. The deck has beautiful panoramic views. SO.MUCH.SPACE. Stocked fully for kitchen needs. Fans, extra blankets, pillows. Literally, everything we needed. Room for two cars in garage.

Great property

My siblings and our families stayed here with our dad to celebrate his 70th birthday. It is a great space with beautiful views! Perfect for our large family. Enough room to spend time together, and enough room to get some solitude, if needed. Highly recommend.

Perfect for Large Family

This property is even better than the photos! We had a family reunion weekend here - ages 2-82. No one felt cramped for space with all the different bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces. We spent the majority of our time on the gorgeous deck that looked newly refinished! Weatherproof decking, hot tub, gas fire pit, tons of seating and views at every angle. It was magic. It’s also so convenient to anything you want to do. We walked down to the base of the resort, grocery and wine were less than 10min drive, and Main Street/hiking/hot springs all within 20min. Can’t recommend enough and already planning our return next summer.

Awesome Family Reunion

Amazing location with incredible views. We stayed here for a family reunion. There are plenty of bedrooms, beds, bathrooms, etc for everyone to be comfortable. Our trip was during the summer, so being close to the lift was not important to us, but this locations was still perfect. You have huge views from the enormous deck. There are also some good hiking and biking trails that you can walk/ride to from the house. We had a great time and would come back!
