The place is as most reviews state "dated". Decor and furniture is all old. Water pressure fluctuates and temp changes like an old house from freezing to scalding in an instant. It is very well located, check in is easy and the pool and hot tubs were nice. It is only a 2 bedroom but for some reason the listing says 4. It worked out for 4 adults and we enjoyed the patio at night.
This property did not sleep 8 as they advertised. It barely stood 8. We complained to the management company and their only solution was to send up an air mattress. The condo was too small to even put out an air mattress. Our 8th guest had to sleep on the air mattress on the deck. The air mattress had a hole in it so our guest had to get up 3 times during the night to blow it up.
The place is incredibly dated and does not seem as if it has been updated since the condos were built. We were with multiple families in this complex that had really nice condos so my advice is to find another one.
Just returned from our weekend in Steamboat. I have to say, this is probably on the bottom of my list of places I've used from VRBO. The main issue is that this condo is HOT. It is accurately listed that there is no A/C but it is not accurate it's not needed. Our rooms for reading on their thermostats at 87 degrees by the time we turned in for bed. Traveling with a toddler, it was just uncomfortable but opening the windows would be too loud.
Also- none of the windows have working blinds and have too light of curtains to help block some of that summer sun.
The porch screen was also completely ripped which I think is a bit of a safety hazard as our 2 year old could literally just walk right through it to the balcony!
The place is super dated which isn't that big of a deal, but some very cheap upgrades could make this a better place to stay:
- a portable AC for bedrooms
- Blinds that work/blackout curtains
- a dishwand with dish soap
The pros were:
-nice pool that wasn't very crowded
-nice views from porch.
-friendly management company (retretia)
I think if you were to use this as simply a place to rest your head during ski season it would serve a good purpose but not great for a relaxing family weekend in the summer.
