I booked this hotel because of its very close proximity to where I needed to be. In a city full of kind accommodating people, this place stood out as the complete opposite.. It started with a simple request to separate the bed into 2 singles (the double bed was just 2 single beds joined together). It was late 7pm, so I said I would separate the bed if they can give me an extra blanket and a pillow. First they acted like they didn’t understand my request and then said it can’t be done and when I asked for a different room they said it can’t be done, then lectured me that I should have requested it earlier and they would do it for me. They finally obliged with blanket and pillow but didn’t mention that I needed sheets too. When I asked the next morning for them to separate it for me (due to no sheets), they gave me attitude and said they won’t. When I came back for the day, another staff member said they did it but it would have been a different charge if I had booked 2 singles (ok, so why didn’t they just say it when I first asked). After that, I had to walk pass the grumpy staff every day for the rest of the week which was extremely uncomfortable and not what you want or expect on vacation. At the end of the stay, I accidentally left a gourmet food gift box in the fridge and asked if anyone had found it. It was obviously in there and they said no. I asked if someone can check the room and they said someone has already moved in to the room. Couldn’t wait to get out of there!

Area close walking distance to Da’an park and Yong Kang Street. Be prepare to Uber, MRT to other sites in Taipei. It’s 2.5 miles to Taipei 101 Wi-Fi. tv, clean room. Efficient size.

There was 1 elevator that was tiny & slow. The room was small, the bathroom was nice but seemed to have no towel racks. Staff was friendly. Our final night there was a planned power outage, which we were informed about, but at some point a lound alarm noise came from the phone and the power never came back on. We had to call the front fesk to have them come to the room to get the power going.

As always, I enjoyed my stay. The standards remain high and the small things like a small Business Centre with coffee (real coffee machine), snacks, a recycle bin in the foyer, and attentive staff give it a welcoming feel!

I was very disappointed with this hotel. The facility is NOT what I expected for the price (173.58 USD/night). The entrance of the building, front desk area, elevators, hallways, and room floor were old and dirty-looking. The bathroom shower and sink were clean, but there was no water for the shower before 7 p.m. This place is like a youth hostel rather than a business hotel.

As always, the Goodmore is one of my favorite hotels in Taipei. It’s close to Da’an Park, cafes, and restaurants. It’s clean, friendly, and has small perks like a well-stocked snack and coffee area.

By western standards the room is very small and the bathroom clear glass walls were a bit surprising but the curtain in front of the bathroom wall worked and everything was fine. This is a no frills hotel but for the one night it worked. It was a short walk to a small night market that was great. In the morning there were several choices for breakfast including Starbucks and several restaurants. Staff was friendly and spoke enough English to help us get through check in and check out with only English speakers in our party. The one problem was locating the hotel as it doesn’t come up correctly on google maps. We showed the driver the address at the airport and we’re dropped off miles away from the hotel. We had to get a second Uber and just used the name of the hotel and not the address and he drove to the front door. Not really the hotels problem but will use the name and not the address next time.
