Tranquility in a parklike setting, this territorial hacienda is located in the 'mesquite basque' area of the Tanque Verde Valley off of Tanque Verde Loop Rd between Tanque Verde and Speedway. Easy drive to downtown Tucson, central Tucson, Tucson International Airport, Tucson Convention Center, fair grounds, University of Arizona, access to freeway (I-19 and I-10), Mt. Lemmon Hwy and many recreational and special interest areas.

Located on a quiet street with a private gated entry, this home, over 5,000 sq ft of living space, is nestled on 3.3 fenced acres, amidst lush vegetation, on the Tanque Verde Wash. This spacious, beautifully decorated home, has a optionally heated pool complete with jacuzzi and water features, a 600 sq. foot Arizona Room, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms including a spacious master bedroom suite, gourmet kitchen and a second complete kitchen, laundry room, very open, flowing floor plan with comfortable living space, 3 TVs, DVD, internet, stereo speakers inside and outside, outdoor gas and charcoal BBQ grills and indoor and outdoor fireplaces, three car garage. The property boasts several water features and ponds housing Koi fish and water plants and has stables, home to 3 miniature donkeys. Horse facilities available include covered stall and pipe corral, automatic water system, cross ties and large tackroom with electricity and sink, turn out area and room for trailer or RV. Many trails in area for riding and walking.

Great location for those who desire the activity of events and sports, but want peaceful respite yet easy travel to events such as the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show, Tucson Rodeo and international golf and cycling events.

Rancho Privado was perfect for our family group of 10 (plus my 11mo old grandchild). Lots of space for everyone. The large kitchen / living area was the perfect area for us all to gather, for meals and family fun. The pool was another favorite hang out, and my granddaughter had a great time walking around in her float in the shallow end. The casita was the perfect area for the younger crew to retire to and the main casa was spacious and perfect for the older crew. There was so much room for everyone. The front porch was also another perfect gathering place. Both areas were fully stocked with everything you needed from cookware to plates, glasses, utensils, towels, beach towels... you name it, it was there! When we weren't out exploring all the beauty of Tucson and the mountains, we were walking around the huge property, admiring the gardens, decore and all the work Lisa and Ray put into such a fabulous place. It was an absolutely perfect place to be.

Wonderful Christmas Holiday with our Family

The hosts, Lisa and Ray, were very accomodating and helpful. The home was very nice, beautifully decorated and well equipped with pots and pans, cooking utensils and other necessities. We were allowed to park a motorhome on the property where a couple of our guests chose to sleep. We were pleasantly surprised to find Christmas decorations, a decorated Christmas tree, and festive tableware for all of us. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our grandchildren loved feeding carrots to the burros and they especially enjoyed the spa as did the adults.

Enchanted hideaway.

Rancho Privado is the perfect place to relax, enjoy Tucson outskirts, and life with nature and the donkeys. Our granddaughters spent most of the stay with the donkeys and in the hot tub. Lisa and Ray are delightful host/owners...always available...never invasive. We now consider them friends. When we need a place to stay in Tucson again, you will find us at Rancho Privado!

Really a Magical Desert Oasis

All 5 stars! House is spacious and has everything you need and an authentic southwest vibe and very private. The property is itself large with plenty of area to explore and enjoy the desert. We were greeted with a fresh bag of great coffee for our use! The beach entrance pool and hot tub worked perfectly and loved using them every day. The house is well decorated with plenty of intriguing southwest art pieces. Very tranquil property for relaxing. Wifi and cable worked perfectly! The hosts, Ray and Lisa, are fantastic people and are hands on with the property. Ray stopped by each morning to check on the pool and skimmed for us each morning as well. You will most likely meet them more than once during your stay and they are very accessible and responsive by phone. I will definitely be looking to stay here again. My whole family loved it and let's not forget the miniature donkeys! One of the highlights of the trip. Mr. Tee, Sundance and Bucky are super friendly and we let them out each day to hang out and feed them carrots. We were there several days and were sad to leave!

Relaxing Outdoor Adventures for All

My entire family enjoyed this beautiful house and outdoor scenery with the cutest donkeys ever! Great walks with tons of different animals to enjoy seeing. Plenty of room for everyone. Family getaway

I have a big family mostly based in Arizona. When we decided to get together with some of the out of state folks this property was a perfect option. The pool and hot tub kept the kids entertained all day. The space was sufficient for 10 people with some creative sleeping arrangements (closet bunk beds). The owners were easy to communicate with and very helpful when we arrived. Would recommend and stay again.

Amazing Stay

We had our first family trip with our 6 month old. We came for a wedding in Tucson. We we’re completely blown away with the property! We had such an amazing time and a wonderful family trip. Lisa was very helpful and responsive! Her husband Ray came by to answer questions and tell us all about the property and near by restaurants. Can’t wait to visit again! Would definitely recommend!

Family Gathering

Such a beautiful well kept property. Ray the owner was fantastic. Any and all requests we had were handled by Ray. He was there daily and was a cornucopia of knowledge. We reserved for 11 adults and 4 were unable to attend which worked out while. The Hacienda will sleep 8 adults comfortably. The great room and kitchen was the main meeting place. We were able to meet Lisa the evening before check out and she cordial. Mr T was a real hit.

Perfect for a large family

We had a family reunion with 12 people ages 4-80. We had such a good time. There are so many different areas on this property that we could all be together or find a secluded spot to be alone with a good book. Such a beautiful house and property. The kids loved the pool and the donkeys. Thank you Lisa and Ray -We would definitely stay here again !

Peaceful Oasis

This property surpassed all of our expectations for a long weekend with friends. The grounds had so much to explore. We spent many hours on the patio, watching birds, listening to the frogs in the koi pond. The interior was filled with original art and treasures. The kitchen was large and well stocked with everything we needed to cook several meals. The house had.a great mix of quiet corners and comfortable gathering spaces. There was plenty of room for our party of 7. We’re already planning our next trip back and talking about staying longer next time. Lisa and Ray were great hosts!

We had such a great time staying here. The place is so interesting with all the cool and unique art and unusual furniture and there’s so much of it we discovered new pieces every day. The house is very large and comfortable with a great pool that is set up like a swimming hole but with a large hot tub.. The owners are kind, caring and engaging. We cancelled Mother’s Day reservations at Mira Val when we realized that we preferred hanging out at Rancho Privado. My wife really enjoyed all the bird life, the donkeys, frogs,,,I could just keep going on. Needless to say but we can’t wait to return.

Family Christmas Gathering

The owners were extremely accommodating. Lisa gave us a wonderful tour & history of the property when we arrived. I especially enjoyed the plentiful artwork in the home (all created by local Tucson artists). Everyday I noticed something new and interesting around the house with its unique decor. And everyone enjoyed interacting with the donkeys. The accommodations were charming and comfortable and supplies were plentiful. The kitchen and great room was perfect for family gatherings. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and family.

Anniversary celebration to be remembered

The property was all we expected AND MORE. The house was large, more than enough for our family gathering of nine. The design was great, in that it allowed our 3 families to have separate areas of sleeping, socializing, etc. At times people simply "disappeared" into their cozy areas for reading, napping, puzzle time, or tv watching. At other times, there was room for all of us to gather for meals, family games, or moments of celebration, all in one place. The property was wonderful to just wander around, taking in the hot tub, the many water features, or just relax on the outdoor furniture to relax in the sun. Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the joy that the 3 miniature donkeys brought to all the family members. They will be part of the memory discussions for years to come! Lisa, our host, was wonderful. She gave us a wonderful tour of the property to begin, with history added in. She even came out to help take photos of the whole family in our special anniversary shirts. The artwork throughout the property was nothing short of astounding! Overall, our three families agreed that this property/location was the perfect spot for the 50th wedding anniversary. We highly recommend this rental location on so many levels! No regrets whatsoever. The long trip from Indiana for many of us was so worth it, due much to the hospitality of Lisa, and her willingness to share this beautiful property with us. Would gladly do it again!!
