Maalaea Kai 215 welcomes you with stunning Pacific Ocean views as you enter! This perfectly located beachfront property boasts over 6 miles of sandy shoreline, ideal for long strolls on the beach. The Tradewinds Market is located down the street, where you can pick up the essentials to grill on the BBQ located just steps away, then enjoy sunset meals on your private lanai. Feel the refreshing Maui breezes and take in the scents of the Hawaiian foliage throughout the manicured property. Keep an eye out for playful dolphins and sea turtles year-round and watch for Humpback Whales when in season.

As you enter this updated, modern-designed, renovated second-floor condo, you will be welcomed by the magnificent ocean views. The furnishings add a beachy charm and create a relaxing stay, while amazing views of the Pacific Ocean are just yards away from your living room. This 1 bed, 1 bath unit features a comfy sofa to watch movies on the flat-screen TV, ceiling fans throughout, high-speed Internet, and WIFI - all offered complimentary. There is a brand new closet organizer located in the hallway closet, which includes a small desk space with a pull-out working surface, wireless keyboard and mouse, light and outlet that supports USB plugs. Additionally, there's a very comfortable queen-size Murphy bed in the living room to accommodate 4 in this condo.

The remodeled, fully equipped kitchen has stainless steel appliances and granite counters, well stocked for the family chef to cook up their favorite meals. You can choose to dine at the table for 4 inside or enjoy al fresco dining on the lanai with ocean views. The cozy bedroom offers a King bed with luxurious linens and a flat-screen TV. Open the windows to allow the famous Ma'alaea Trade Wind breezes to naturally cool the room. The bathroom is conveniently located off the hallway and features a gorgeous updated vanity as well as a rainfall shower/tub. For your convenience, beach towels, beach chairs, and one assigned parking spot are available.

*Newly installed (January 2026) A/C is provided in the bedroom only. Ceiling fans and natural airflow help keep the rest of the condo comfortable. Washer and dryer are shared in the building and are not located inside the unit.*

Meticulously maintained grounds along with a refreshing swimming pool, outdoor grilling area, and tiki torches set the scene for a relaxing tropical experience. Maalaea Kai has over 2 acres of grounds, as well as an ocean-side pool, two gas grills, and a charcoal grill. It's a short, easy walk to Maui's largest beach, Sugar Beach, which is over six miles long. There is a full-time resident manager on-site, and you'll find convenient assigned parking close to the unit, with elevator and stairs for easy access.

Ma'alaea Kai is located in the heart of Maui near Ma'alaea Harbor and is the perfect starting point for exploring the island. Centrally located on Maalaea Bay, you can quickly reach Lahaina, Kahului, or Kihei from this complex. It's also a great location to enjoy a peaceful evening watching picturesque sunsets while taking in nature's splendid panorama. From your condo, you can walk to the Ma'alaea Bay shops, restaurants, and the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium. The harbor is close by for early morning snorkel adventures or lovely cocktail cruises. Also just moments away, you can find the Maui Golf and Sports Park with mini golf, bumper boats, X-treme trampoline, and rock climbing. The King Kamehameha Golf Resort is a short drive away, along with the Maui Tropical Plantation and the famed Millhouse Restaurant.

Misrepresented! Claimed to have a hot tub which was part of deciding factor in choosing this unit. It does not have a hot tub. Host commnuicarion was very poor as bots try to handle your problems like finding the laundry. Very rude and demeaning host insisting laundry was in the room and finding out it is down the hallway after an hour of conversations. 50 great VRBO stays except for this one. Expect no help if choosing to rent this unit.

Comfortable, beautiful stay in Ma'alaea

We had a fantastic stay in Maui thanks to this relaxing and peaceful condo. The condo appeared identical to the listing's photos. We appreciated the snorkels, coolers, and beach gear, as well as the books provided for some beachside reading. The lanai was beautiful and we loved spending time there in the morning eating breakfast. The grounds are very nicely kept and the pool is large, clean, and enjoyable. There are also dozens of sea turtles each afternoon that hang out in the shallow water in front of the property which is an added bonus!

Condo was very nice and clean. Building very well maintained. Location is handy to a variety of options to do. Had a small plumbing issue first day, but easily resolved. View from condo was spectacular! On path of planes coming in, however did not bother us at all. Would definately rent again.

Nice getaway to paradise for the holidays

Check in process was very streamlined and property management was very responsive to my inquiries. The unit was well stocked and even had snorkeling equipment, games etc which was much appreciated. Given that we came in Winter the weather was perfect and not to hot but if the visit was in summer the unit could get a bit hot since there is not AC inside unit. It is well advertised as such but just to be mindful if your kids can't tolerate the heat of summer to consider. We had a fabulous time. Thank you for the memories.

We Picked a Winner!

Our condo was beautifully decorated, comfortable, felt very much like a home, and was a dozen feet or so away from the shoreline. The area that the condo is in is quiet compared to other parts of Maui. A short distance away there is a 6 mile long beach to walk to enjoy and to swim. The condo is also close to a small harbor from which you can catch a variety of tours. There is also a shopping area, restaurants, and an aquarium. The condo is also centrally located and can be the access point for many of the things to see and do in Maui. We will be coming back again. My only critique would be that some of the description of the condo says it has a sunset view, however, I think that depends on the time of the year. For us the sunset was out of sight.

WOW!!!

This property was absolutely amazing! The view is amazing! The rental sits directly on the water, which after exploring the island a bit, seems to be rare. Most others we saw have a road or public walkway between them and the water. The grounds were well kept which added to the view. Enjoyed sitting in the lawn and watching the sun go down. The unit was well stocked with kitchen stuff, games, snorkel gear, beach chairs, etc. For a week stay, we ran out of bathroom stock (toilet paper, soap, shampoo, conditioner) so we had to go out and buy more which isn’t cheap on the island. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and would recommend this place to everyone! The location is central on the island which allowed us to explore every corner!

If the neighboring car was there, the passenger would have to get out before we parked.Overall, I would highly recommend this condo to any couple or small family. The central location was everything we wanted! It was 10 minutes to the airport, 15 minutes to Lahaina, Kaanapali, etc and 5 minutes to Kihei. Couldn't ask for more!

The pillows gave me a stiff neck, they were polyester filled to the brim.6. The views on Haleakala and the bay were amazing, you get the best of mountains and ocean here.

Great unit, and great location on Maui!

Our 4th visit to Maui, and first time staying at Maalaea Bay area. We loved it. Very convenient to everything. If you want to go to Haleakala, Hana, Lava fields, snorkeling, Mamas fish house, this is convenient to these as well as the airport! Unit had everything we needed. Just no extra seasonings, condiments or cooking spray.so take your old bay and garlic if you go fishing, Had a couple issues (minor) and Caldwell Banker responded quickly. So if i had to point out a negative the only thing I'd say is the Cable tv was goofy (we had some stormy rain days-and our team was in NFL playoffs otherwise we wouldnt have even turned on) and theres no instructions for tv or cable or channel listing and it took us a while to figure out how to put on network tv. Unit supplied with salt,pepper, coffee filters. a couple K cups (drip and kuerig pots). enough TP and paper towels and handsoap for our 11 night stay. Pool is ok. nothing fancy. Saw whales breaching or waving EVERY day. turtles in water near property -just no beach for them to climb up on. Quiet area. you don't hear traffic. its a dead end. and an easy Walk to Ocean center or excursions. Went to Seascapes per owners recommendation-Great early dinner /late lunch and reasonable for a gourmet meal with a bay view! Sunrise on the lanai with your coffee! no sunsets from here, but Haleakala was great for that and in only 1 hour you can be above the clouds. Thank you for sharing your Maui home with us!!!

Potential with Glitches

The property looks as advertised. Overall, we were happy. Check-in was not smooth. I did not receive the welcome email that was supposed to have been sent several days prior to the day of check-in. Guests will want to note the email was supposed to come from @escapia.com. Check-in information was not available through VRBO. The second thing to note is check in is at 4 pm, and the property management ends office hours at 5 pm. They are not on site. I started contacting the company prior to 5 pm and had to dig to find the contact number. It took over 2 hours before we could access the unit, and we were in the process of finding alternative accommodations for our stay before someone finally returned the call. When the property management followed up the next day during their office hours, the only thing they had to say was they sent the email. I have checked all folders (including Spam and Trash), and I do not have any email from the company to assist with check-in. The final thing that was a concern was the floor of the unit. It was so dirty we all wore socks to keep the dirt from staining our feet. This may occur due to the need to have the windows open for air flow in the unit and the strong trade winds during our stay. We swept and mopped the floor a few times during our stay and didn't see much improvement. It's an easy fix if you don't mind socks, but house shoes would be a better thing to pack. The unit wasn't the main issue--it was the management and check-in process. The lanai was a great windbreak and very enjoyable.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Perfect location! We visited in January, so we sat on the lanai for hours, with our binoculars, watching the mother humpbacks with their babies. Green sea turtles feed very close to the sea wall, you can pull up a lounge chair on the grass and watch them for hours too. It is an easy walk to the Maalaea harbor for boat trips, and a few stores. A quick drive to many popular areas of the island. Comfortable furniture, well stocked kitchen, good decor. Condo was very clean and appeared well maintained. There is no air conditioner, Maalaea is known for being windy. Our week here saw unusual weather, there was hardly a breeze during the day, it did cool off nicely as soon as the sun set. Even with the window and door open and the ceiling fans and a floor fan running, the condo did get very warm as soon as the sun rose above Haleakala, about 8am. We had to pull the drape closed, to block the sun, and unfortunately our view, to be somewhat comfortable. Whenever we left the condo, we pulled the drape closed and kept the window cracked. It is also a bit of a longer walk to the beach than we realized, you have to walk along the road, not along the water. This is the only easy area to get into the sea near the condo. We loved our stay at the condo and will cherish our memories of watching the whales from the lanai, and seeing turtles. It has a million dollar view! We would have absolutely loved the condo itself, if either there had been a cooling breeze, or if there had been an air conditioner. We are thankful for our stay, but we were not as comfortable as we would have liked. Thank you very much for allowing us to vacation at this lovely location!

The view was my favorite part, waking up to that view was so amazing. The night time view of the moon light shining on the ocean was breathtaking. The only issue was the bathtub was a little clogged so the water drained slowly. Other than that, my experience was great! I definitely recommend staying here.

I loved this condo

We were happy with the beds (our son slept on the Murphy bed) and the entire condo. It is well stocked- everything we needed in the kitchen and for the beach. There were even books to read and games to play. The unit was clean and the breeze with the windows open was amazing. We spent a lot of time on the lanai enjoying the view. The pool was often empt and we grilled out and met other travelers. It was a great stay.

Reviewer Comments: If you are in need of some overdue R&R, this is a great spot to unwind. Cozy condo with lots of amenities right on the water’s edge. Plus, it is within walking distance to some top attractions like the aquarium and popular restaurants. We did not want to be in a crowded hotel, so this was a perfect spot for our needs. And we barely heard any of the neighbors at all but everyone was friendly when we were out and about.

Only downside is no A/C but you can get a decent breeze. Absolutely gorgeous view. No beach access directly out front but it's just a 5 minute walk down the private road.

It was great to have comfortable furniture on the lanai...many don’t have this. Spent many hours outside enjoying the sound of the waves and the views as well as watching surfers and boats going from the harbour.
