The staff wasn’t very helpful or informative with any questions we had. Took 100$ for incidentals and has yet to return it 2 days later. I booked a king size room and got a queen size bed. Definitely not worth 250$ a night in my opinion.

It was an array of things that all come together that made it not a very pleasant stay. First off, the door to the room I was assigned, I had to literally THROW myself in the door to open it because it wouldn't open like a normal door. Second, the room stunk. Third, power went out the morning of our check out and the security system that is in place makes ALL doors lock, which also means if you leave your room without a second person you're locked out. Then not one employee in that place can give a consistent answer that matches another employee answer. Also the staff was very rude. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Maine Evergreen was an inspiring Hotel! We travel a lot and believe that is the first time we have used that adjective to convey how we felt about any of the places we have stayed, regardless of price. The room was quite nice. The attached restaurant and lounge was quite cozy and offered high-quality fare. The hotel itself is one giant art gallery with works from dozens of Maine artists on display & for sale. It's in a very convenient location as well. But it was the staff that made our stay most rewarding. We had a very trying trip made even more difficult with car issues and the extreme weather that weekend. But the entire staff eased our anxieties and even offered assistance over and above what we expected. We will certainly choose the Maine Evergreen whenever we are in the Augusta area and give it our highest possible recommendation!
