The bath tub was way to high and very hard to get into. I am tall and it was way to high for me and was slippery so I had to put a towel in the bottom of the tub so I wouldn't slip.

A gem and excellent location

This is not a large, fancy hotel but a lovely, older boutique almost directly on the main plaza in the Las Ramblas. It is warm, welcoming and comfortable. A nice surprise is a 24-hour buffet open to all guests with coffee, beer, wine and sodas. It is so conducive to meeting other guests and we met many interesting people. There is an elevator but you may have to climb a couple of short stairways for some rooms so if you have mobility issues be sure and let them know when you book.

We liked the hotel being small and the convenience to many things including the buffet, as well as the friendly staff. The one negative is that our twin bed split apart when I sat on the bed close to the split and I fell straight down to the floor hitting a metal support causing a puncture wound requiring a trip to the hospital and 6 stitches.

Very old city hotel so rooms were small and not modern but charming. We had a balcony overlooking La Rambla where we could watch the people and city drama every day! Downside was it was noisy when we were trying to sleep. The bathroom tub was very dangerous with no holdbars so we had to be extra careful getting into the shower. There was only a sliding, translucent door between the bathroom and bedroom which was a little disconcerting. Reasonably clean room with safe, microwave and frig. This hotel had a 24 hr buffet! The coffee was fresh ground and amazing and they even had frozen yogurt! I can’t say enough about the great staff who were so helpful. Everybody was super friendly, even the guests who liked to socialize in the lounging areas. The hotel also has an outdoor patio. We highly recommend this hotel as long as you realize its limitations.

The hotel was very nice. The receptionist offered great suggestions for dining and places of interest. It is very conveniently located. We could not have had better accommodations. I would highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again!

Large size room for Europe. A/C worked well. Enjoyed the 24 hr free buffet. Close to shopping, attractions and restaurants. Excellent choice for staying before a cruise. Only con was staff should have informed us the roads would be closed all around the hotel for a couple of hours while a parade took place. Wait over 1.5 for an UBER to try to pick us up to go to the cruise terminal. Eventually we had to cancel and flag down a cab so as not to miss our cruise.

Hats off to Hotel Continental Barcelona

We really enjoyed our stay here. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The girl at the desk on the day we checked out seemed to be preoccupied or just wasn't very friendly or helpful. The breakfast was delicious and the snacks were tasty and were a great benefit. The bed was just a bit hard (especially where the twin beds came together. The room was very clean and very spacious. We had a balcony that overlooked Las Ramblas and it was nice to sit out and watch the people. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The Heart of La Ramblas

The location was fantastic, right on La Ramblas and within 100 yards of Plaza de Catalunya. Our room was modern, spacious, well-equipped, had a supremely comfortable bed, and was bright and airy thanks to the full-length glass doors to our balcony, where we often happily sat (table and chairs provided) while absorbing the sights and sounds of La Ramblas. Wonderful. All staff were very pleasant and helpful, particularly receptionist Viviane who greeted us like friends every time. A perfect choice.

This is a really good choice of hotel if you stay in Barcelona. This hotel is located in the center of La Rambla, which is super convenient for shopping. The market is nearby. The hotel offers 24 hours of free food, coffee (Espresso and Latte), sodas, juices, fruits, snacks, even frozen yogurt, which was delicious. The hotel also stored our luggage at 9:00am after we left the cruise boat. When we returned in the afternoon, our luggage was already in our room. My room even has a small charming balcony which I can overlook La Ramblas Blvd. We truly enjoyed our stay. The staff is friendly. I would totally go back.

A hotel that offers free beer! Unusual doesn't come close to describing this place. Located on a prime pedestrian street, the room and bathroom were excellent. The best equipped and functional bathroom that I had during a week-long trip in the region. The 24-hour buffet is a delight. The spaces and decor are unique. Staff is friendly and helpful. It is the furthest thing from a cookie-cutter hotel imaginable. Even without the free beer (and frozen yogurt), it can't be recommended enough.
