"Lovely property. Never felt crowded and did not have to wake early to get a chair by the beach or pool. Ocean was rough during our stay so we walked over to pebbles beach for calmer waters. Would return!"

"Reception staff brusque. I advised the manager that they were bolshy, but she didn’t know what I meant. In general, all other staff were quite cheerful, efficient, helpful and seemed to be reasonably happy. On arrival, we were eventually shown to the room, 307 I think, and on entering we were knocked backed by a smell of damp, musty, fousty. A firm no thank you, long walk back to reception. We were shown to another room which was almost as far and just as damp etc., smelling. Trecked back to reception. After much protestations we were shown to a suite, which was thankfully smell free. This room was available to us at US$160 per night. We are reluctantly accepted after a strong protest. Not very happy. Even less happy when after a little around the property we went for a shower. Run the taps for 10 minutes but no hot water. Back to reception. “Are you sure you’re turning the tap the right way”? We had tried both ways. No one came until the following morning when they turned the tap on for 10 mins for the same result. Head scratching as they went to investigate. We went on like this all day until finally early evening we had some hot water.. But Planning was essential. Had to run the tap for five minutes before any hot water arrived. After being rebuffed by reception staff, I eventually spoke to the manager who offered a one night cancellation of the upgrade fee only, which I refused and successfully insisted on both nights upgrade fee being cancelled. Food was GOOD "

"The housekeeping did a very very bad job. Did not clean the room well. Also the aisles and the stairs were always dirty. The housekeeping were also not friendly and did a very bad job at putting clean towels. There was always lacking some. Also did not change the bedsheet as supposed to. I must say, 2 of the staff members were very friendly and kind. Ms. Rosita from the front desk and mr. Adrain from the security. Adrian was the sweetest. Also very helpful. They definitely stood out. I loved the beach view. That’s why very unfortunate that the hotel is in such a bad state. It definitely needs to be upgraded. "

"We had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly and accommodating except for not getting our room cleaned a few days. The food was great, entertainment every night, and we loved finishing up our nights dancing at the piano bar. "

"We absolutely loved Barbados—the culture, the people, the food, the stunning beaches, and the ocean were all amazing! Unfortunately, our experience at The Crane Resort was quite disappointing. The Good: - The resort has beautiful grounds. - Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. - We stayed in a spacious private residence that offered fantastic views and a large balcony. The Bad: - The beach was unusable every day, forcing us into a cramped shuttle ride for 35 minutes to a very crowded alternative beach. While that beach had nice water and sand, it was inconvenient. - The pools were not well-maintained; the water was dirty and cloudy, and there were only 4 to 6 lounge chairs available—definitely not enough for a resort of this size. - There was no nightlife whatsoever; everything shut down by 10 PM. - Most of the restaurants were subpar. Even breakfast and lunch made Starbucks seem gourmet. Zen was decent, but our order was frequently misunderstood, making for unexpected meals, though they were fresh and tasty. - Wi-Fi was unreliable, working only about 10% of the time, and the gym was outdated and in poor condition. - We noticed stray cats roaming the grounds. - Check-in took forever, and we didn’t get our room until after 4 PM. - Management displayed a lack of care and often spoke down to guests. While we cherish our memories of Barbados, we have no intention of returning to The Crane Resort. We’d recommend exploring options on the West Coast instead."
