Stylishly decorated and perfectly maintained 1950s ranch with everything you need to feel at home. NEW: NO CLEANING FEES. Three bedrooms, 4 luxurious beds, (king queen and 2 twins) , queen sofa sleeper just added for 2 extra guests (even the unexpected),1.5 bathrooms, well appointed cooks kitchen with modern appliances and retro decor. You’ll feel like your visiting your very cool grandparents’ house. Lots to look at and talk about as you explore the decor of the 50s, 60s and 70s. Wedding Guest?? We are walking distance from Veterans Terrace and The Mercantile. The 1841 Barn is 2 miles away.
Burlington is a charming exurban city surrounded by recreational and farm land. Unique downtown shops are steps away. Antiquing and thrifting as well as gourmet groceries are all within the city limits. Walk to downtown, restaurants, shops and bars, 50 steps to the river walk, yard and covered patio spaces to enjoy outdoors.
Loads of outdoor recreational activities year round. We are close to state trails, 3 ski hills, concert venues, two rivers and dozens of lakes. Lake Geneva is 10 mins away, Milwaukee is 45 mins and Chicago 90 mins with 2 options for train transport to avoid traffic. Perfect for a getaway with girlfriends, family or couples.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Retro Rectory! The entire house was spotless, fully functional, and thoughtfully decorated. The young adults in our group were thoroughly entertained by the vinyls in the music room. Donna was super accommodating and let us know the day of that the house was ready for us and we were free to come early. Great neighborhood with walking path along the river, shops, and park nearby. Would stay again without a doubt!

What a delightful, clean, and comfortable home!....and talk about 1950's motif, right out of central casting, and very tastefully done at that.....and with all the modern features you need as well.Home is cozy and comforting but with plenty of elbow room.....and everything works to a T.The location is ideal.We communicated with our host Donna to introduce ourselves and go over general topics and she was very responsive, helpful, and welcoming.There were even Christmas decorations out, a very thoughtful bonus on Donna's part.We will return for certain.....

The house was very cute and cozy, and Donna left us clear instructions for everything and how to care for the house! We were in town for a wedding at Veterans Terrace, and this house was the perfect spot for our group. There was some construction going on with the driveway and the street that didn't allow us to park in the driveway, but Donna went out of her way to call us ahead of time and let us know, and helped us make a plan for parking, as we had 6 cars coming. There was a small city parking lot just down the street, so we were able to park there and walk to the house. And the walk through the park to the venue was so pretty! We made sure to sign the guest book, and add a trinket to the little shelf on the wall before we left :)

The road that the property was on happened to be in the process of being torn up and resurfaced the day we atrived. Not the property owners fault, but a bit of an inconvenience. However, this was communicated the norning before we arrived so it was not a surprise to us.

Blast in the Past!

The property literally was a blast to the past! From the black and white checkered floor, to the Ronald McDonald cups in the kitchen! This quaint home located in Burlington, Wisc was easy to find and had all the comforts of home! Check in was a breeze and Donna was a gracious host, always available to answer questions!!

Hotel alternative for funeral

The house was clean and comfortable. This was a first time doing this for me. I have some walking insecurity so an outside hand rail at the steps would have been helpful. The beds and bath facilities were fine for our needs. Others had left condiments in the fridge which was great and we liked the thoughtful extra packaged goods in the cupboards also, even if we didn't use them.

Perfect Little House

This charming house was very clean and all of our accommodations were wonderful. We attended a wedding at Mercantile Hall just a few blocks away, so the location was perfect. It was walking distance to everything downtown: breakfast, dinner, bars, wedding hall, coffee shops. Our group of 4 was very comfortable but there was plenty of room for a couple more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this house!

Donna is a wonderful host and the house was fantastic! Perfect location and just right for our group of 5
we were close to Lake Geneva for walking the shore line and other activities and we were able to go on a great bike ride right from the house. Next time we will definitely bring our kayaks and check out the Fox River. Thanks for your hospitality!

Perfect Place

This property was the perfect place for my daughter's wedding party. The directions were clear and the check-in process was easy. The house was comfy, and I loved the retro decor. The host was accommodating when there was a change in the number of guests.
