Hotel stay

This was my first time at this hotel. My family and i went to lego land first and it was maybe a 10 min drive to there. Hotel staff was welcoming when checking in. They have free parking! They had cookies and milk waiting in the lobby. Rooms were so clean and comfortable. Definitely got great rest. Hotel had complimentary breakfast, and it was amazing. It was not bland like other hotels we stayed at before. This felt like a buffet and my kids enjoyed every second of it. We are a family of 4 and definitely would stay here again!

The staff were all so friendly. The beds were huge and comfortable. I love that they offered free breakfast in the morning and that they had laundry facilities on each end of the hallways. Would stay again.

West Inn is always a priority for us when in Carlsbad. We like everything about it but the matress in the room assigned to us needs to be replaced. It has seen better days, it’s like a sinking boat. I thought they have changed the matresses since we saw a lot of new matresses last year in the covered Parking lot… maybe it’s still a work in progress.

Train horn noise, and I had continuous niose from the bathroom toilet which I found the reason of the noise was due to lack of water filling level because the seal inside the tank wasn't sealing properly after flush. And that noise was loud enough to wake me up from sleep in the bed. I was able to go to sleep after putting on my ear buds with noise canceling. The place itself was in good location and all the staffs were extremely friendly.

The hotel building and grounds are beautiful, well maintained and clean. The staff - both front desk and housekeeping, were very helpful, kind and friendly. The breakfast room is comfortable and clean. That said, I would skip the breakfast option as sadly, it ranks as one of the worst hotel breakfast we have ever had. The questionable scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes were cold and tasteless. Yogurt was sugary sweet and the oatmeal was runny. The bananas and oranges were fine thankfully. However, the staff was attentive and friendly.

I would stay again

It was my family of 4 staying here; we enjoyed the king size beds! Comfort was of no issue. Large refrigerator and microwave in room. Laundry facilities on the 2nd floor. They have a little store located next to the front desk. Everyone was so nice! Breakfast served between 6:30-9:30am. Good options were good! Plenty of space to sit at. Sadly we had to check out early due to my child becoming ill (not due to the hotel) and I had to check out 1 day early, I was charged $75 which I felt could have been waved and then my room card did not work. We had just returned from the beach and we were wet and had to use the bathroom and when we arrived the card did not work at all so I had to run down stairs and take care of this issue. Which was never resolved. They handed me a master key and requested I return it because it was their last key. Some minor hiccups along the way but it was a nice hotel. Plenty of outside parking. The grounds were clean and this place was down the street from the beach! I would stay again. The part that was cute was “ cookie hour” nothing special but a cute idea. We went down for cookies and milk. Loved the idea!
