The overall look of the apartment and cleanliness get a solid 4 stars. The only negative in this category was the pizza boxes left in the oven from a previous renter. The reason I am giving a 2-star rating is that the thermostat did not work. We like cool sleeping conditions, and each night we set the thermostat to cool at 68 degrees, we would wake up, and the apartment was 55 degrees. During the day, we would set it to heat at 68 degrees, and each day we returned, the temperature was 85 degrees. We notified our host each time this happened, and they were responsive, but they never sent maintenance to the apartment. Instead, they chose to have us troubleshoot the problem. This was fine except we left the apartment every day at 9:00 am and returned at 9:00 pm. It was not our job to monitor the thermostat. We asked our host to comp our last night for all the trouble we had with the thermostat during our stay. They have declined to refund one night of stay (which we believe was more than fair). In my opinion, this is terrible customer service, and therefore, I cannot recommend this host, and thus, the 2-star rating.
