Upon check in the guy specifically said the holiday was dead and quiet b/c they have business travelers. We got the wrong room and they refused to change rooms based on our reservation. Manager was so rude. We got a refund but for real, who turns away Marriott members like that? And on a holiday no less. It was the worst customer service experience I have ever experienced at a Marriott hotel.

The room & the amenities, like the indoor pool, were great. But there were times, like at night, & during check out time where no staff was at the front desk. During the evening of my stay, when a front desk staff member finally came out, my husband was met with attitude for just asking where the ice machines were located. Overall, other people interactions were pleasant with the staff, like during our check in process.

I booked it on Expedia, my intention was to book for that night… I showed up at the hotel that evening to check in and my reservation I made was for a week in advance when I would not need the hotel. I of course had booked the non-refundable version on Expedia. Yet I talked to 2 workers at the front desk who would not refund me even though they are a hotel that sells out each night. They were even sold out that night I was trying to check in. I am an honest person to a fault and it was really frustrating that they wouldn’t so a simple refund for an honest mistake. Expedia even tried to advocate for the refund later with no luck.

Very poor, and Courtyard Marriott Waverly, Charlotte, NC, lacks proper security protocol. Non-working shower and they didn’t know who their maintenance person was that they sent to my room. Luckily I didn’t open the door. He walked away after I made several demands that he identify himself. I will never visit Marriott again.
