The tub had no plug if you like to take a bath thats out the sink in the bathroom was ready to fall off the wall onto my feet not so good .the door locks need to be replaced old worn out and the room needs a few throw rugs it was raining all weekend and tile got very slippery with soaked feet from the rain.
The room looked like the oldest on the property. The bathroon was gross used wash rags hanging on the shower curtain and hair in the drain and other peoples bobby pins on the floor. Didnt even wanna sleep under the cover. Only plus was a huge comfy chair to sit in. 65 a night is to myxh for this room.
Amenities were non-existent. One little bar of soap. No shampoo or conditioner. 3 towels and wash cloths were provided, but I didn't know if I should dry off with them or go sand off the rust on my car. There is a full size refrigerator & stove (why?) plus microwave & sink. However NO utensils, plates, cups, pans, nothing in the cabinets. Cleanliness was sub par, as is the bedding. You get what you pay for at this place. Owner said in another review that he was remodeling one room at a time, so maybe there's hope for them in the future. Check back in 2021.
The room was like a small apartment, but be advised to bring your own dinner ware/silver, pots and pans if u want to cook. Has fridge, stove, & microwave. Very nice and clean. Will come back for sure.
Hot shower, great bed. We were in one of the older rooms, but it was clean. He showed us some of the newly renovated rooms. Beautiful!
Great area! Little shops and restaurants to walk to and lots of great kayaking ! We are planning to return!
Very good location within 2 blocks of several places to eat and a public dock.
Got one of the 'old' rooms. It had a full kitchen, but no pots/pans/plates with which to use the kitchen. I was lucky there was some silverware in a drawer. Shower did not get hot, only warm enough. Huge 8' long fluorescent light is very unpleasant. Had to keep bathroom door closed so it didnt cover the AC, so the room would cool (minor inconvenience). In my 5 or 6 nights, the room was never cleaned, no fresh towels, etc.
Older motel in middle of rehab. Rooms old but clean. Little daily service, aiming for extended stay. Location was excellent. A block from one boat park and playground, 2 blocks from a swimming park and playground, quaint downtown all close by.
Fantastic stay, very well setup. Friendly staff, straightforward stay. Steps away from an amazing BBQ restaurant and cost to all amenities as well as the manatees. Walking distance to a public beach where manatees stay. Literally the only complaint we could make was that the room was a little bright to sleep. It would be awesome if the curtains either sealed a little better, or if the outside lights could be dimmed or some turned out. I didn't deduct any points for this, but it was worth mentioning.
Room was very old and rundown. Too many years without attention. Needs updating and remodeling badly. AC wall unit was also aweful sounding and worked poorly. Was not impressed if they are trying to influence future and returning customers to come stay with them.
The location was perfect. Easy walking to Hunter Spring and local places to eat and drink.
The Bad - Bates Motel.
The towel rack and toilet paper roll were both broken, to the point they latterly fell out of the wall. The window at the head of the bed had a light right out side that you could not turn off. The curtains were so sheer anyone walking by could easily see into the room. No were to hand towels or bathing suits.
The place is old and run down which I had expected. That is not the problem. Simple things like the broken toilet seat ( it was actually disconnected from the toilet and required a balancing act to use), the kitchen faucet desperately needed a new aerator, changing burnt out light bulbs doesn't require much. But worse than the small things that could be repaired easily was the dirty floors wear we actually found whole snack cakes and crumbs from previous residents. That may explain the German cockroaches.
