We provide a comfortable destination to travel with family or pets. Welcome!
I stayed at this home for three months during a travel contract and it was the absolute most perfect place for my dog and I. We were far enough away from the bustling of town, but within 15 minutes from multiple resorts and 25 minutes away from town making it the perfect stay for us. The views around the property itself were beautiful, hikes within minutes at Canaan valley, and a beautiful covered porch for quiet nights of reading. Jake, the property manager was so kind throughout my entire stay, and remained available via phone for anything I needed during my time there. I will definitely returning again to visit in this place that felt so much like my own home.
We loved the location of the old post office. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking and baking needs. It was a very unique property and we would love to visit again.
We had to cut our trip short due to a snow/wind storm. Due to the location far from a main road, I was worried that if trees came down or power got cut it would be an issue so left early. The house was very clean and well stocked and having a large bathroom downstairs was great. Some of the floors definitely creak.
We had a wonderful time at this mountain house. The setting was so peaceful, and the sound of the running water in the backyard stream was soothing. We greatly appreciated that pets were welcome. We would definitely stay here again!
We went for a short ski weekend in the area. We had a blast! The house was perfectly located for everything that we wanted to do. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and the couch was super cozy for cuddling at the end of the day. Would love to come back when it's warm for some summer activities!
Unfortunately we could not complete our stay at the property. We had car trouble on the way out and with the prediction of a lot of snow we decided not to risk it. However, the host, James, was so helpful in letting us know how the property is taken care of during big snow storms. We felt very comfortable knowing we would be taken care of while enjoying the winter wonderland of West Virginia. We hope to plan another trip out to see this cute property very soon!
This was a nice spot for our little group, very comfortable, cozy and kid-friendly. It was equipped with everything we needed for our two-night stay. The location was gorgeous and very convenient to Canaan Valley and Timberline ski resorts.
This place was exactly what we needed and a lot more. Itâs a perfect distance from Canaan Valley ski resort. We had a family of 6 and everyone had their own space and the kitchen was huge for our family meals. Also really nice appliances in the kitchen. Huge bathroom downstairs with shower/tub and dual sinks. Powder room for upstairs nighttime trips to the bathroom! We will book here again!!
Upon arrival I noticed the front storm door handle broken plus no chain to keep it from staying open, the door lock code was incorrect and had to be reset no biggie but noted. When I entered the house there was a pretty intense odor. We tried to air out the house and it was a little better after a day.
On Wednesday the heater kicked on and the odor was very noticeable, we sniffed around to find mouse skat all under the tv on the floor then sniffed the basket with a blanket in it. It was putrid, The blanket full of skat and urine. We swept up a large pile of mouse skat that was on the floor. The basket and blanket was left outside as it was just disgusting. The smell never really went away in the house and every time the heater would kick on it was right back. This house was the worst Vrbo I have stayed at. If my wife were with me we would have not stayed there.
For the price they are charging I expected the house to be perfect. Rustic but perfect.
The host replied about 24 hours later only after I sent another message.
The reply was slightly slightly disturbing. Dead mice were found in the duct work. Please note, we did not contact the host immediately as we probably should have and hindsight, you get it. No cell service, a busy schedule and just being a few dumb older guys played part in that, just an excuse but in no way would I expect to have dead animals in the duct work. We could deal with a little skat. We are getting back $500 out of nearly $2100. Out of spaceâŠâŠâŠ.
I am so glad we chose this spot for our family's sledding trip. Our host was so friendly and proactive with communication about the nearby attractions- even helping prompt us to buy our sledding tickets early! The house was perfect for our group- spacious, well equipped, and beautiful. We can't wait to come back!
Went to the area for sledding at Blackwater State Parking. Our host was fantastic in communication and recommendation of places to eat and see. Property is cozy and eclectic. Had great time and highly recommend.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is cute with a spacious kitchen and downstairs bathroom. Hot water for everyone. The house was clean except for a few, minor things. The one surprise (which was not apparent by the picture) is that the house is very close to a road. It's NOT a main road but there is some traffic so it is loud when people drive by. You hear the traffic in the master bedroom and family room.
