In general, we always like staying at The Franklin but this time was not as pleasant as far as the room. I was told you have a no pet policy but a previous guest had brought a cat in. The room smelled of cat urine and as I am highly allergic to cat dander, could tell immediately there had been a cat in there. I wondered why the cleaning service didn't do anything about the obvious odor when they did a prior cleaning?

The staff at this hotel is amazing. The rooms are nicely decorated. Yes parking is about a block away, but just ask the front desk staff if you can get a ride there. The only negative feedback I have is that their elevator smell like mold cheese that was left out in the sun.

I always enjoy my stay at the Franklin. It’s a good base camp. You can walk up and down the streets of deadwood and come back there and it’s always hospital unfriendly and clean.
