Winter Paradise

We decided to try a winter getaway in Door County in the middle of March allowing for a high-end experience at reasonable price! The County is virtually a ghost town allowing you to take in the beauty at a comfortable pace from Egg Harbor to Gills Rock aka 'The End'. Peninsula State Park, White Gull Inn, Wild Tomato, Mink Basin (best onion rings!) and Jen's Windy Road were all enjoyed with no crowds to contend with making eating and site seeing a pleasure! We discovered a few shops and markets open this time of year. The home has a top-of-the-line (Viking) kitchen with all the amenities, super comfy bedrooms (especially the master bedroom with port holes for lake Michigan viewing and many unique artistic features to explore throughout the home. We enjoyed an afternoon sitting around a bon fire watching Lake Michigan in all its glory awaken from its winter slumber including the most spectacular moon gazing for a couple of nights. The game room provided hours of laughter and fun shooting pool and darts, who knew my sister was a pool shark! Jeremy, our host, was excellent! He provided detailed information before and throughout our stay adding to an already exceptional experience! We loved it!

Beautiful Space!

This property has such a great variety of beautiful spaces. There's lots of room to spread out, it would be really great for a group. There was more outdoor space than we expected, and we hope to come back during the warm season to enjoy the outdoors more. The views were amazing. We stayed in January and enjoyed watching the ever-changing ice landscape on the water, along with the ferry, a flock of loons, and a bald eagle hunting the shoreline that flew close to the cabin windows. We cooked up a storm in the well-stocked kitchen, and we especially loved the game room! House was very clean, and host communication was excellent. We love Porte Haven!

You won’t find better views of the lake anywhere - truly spectacular. The home sits as close to the lake as possible and the windows are large and abundant. Perfect lake and nature viewing for any season.

Unbelievable views in a warm setting

We really enjoyed our stay! A unique property that is well appointed, warm and inviting. The views and location are hard to beat. The location is away from the busyness of the towns on Highway 42, but not so far away that it hinders exploration of the popular spots in Door County. The house is charming and the host very responsive should you need anything. We will make a point to stay at this location again.

A Magical Time

A beautiful home with great amenities and the view was absolutely amazing!! We enjoyed listening to the waves crash into the rocks, and the sky was awe inspiring with the Milky Way directly above the house. We didn’t want to leave and are already planning our return trip.

Best Door County Experience

This is a beautiful property with beautiful amenities. The location is amazing! It was the perfect location to celebrate my mom’s 60th birthday! The owners were friendly and helpful :) I recommend renting this property and we will be renting again!

Easter weekend at Porte Haven

We had an outstanding weekend at Porte Haven the cabin was clean comfortable with a great game room and above all, incredible lake views the sunrises from the upstairs master were incredible and the hot steam room and whirlpool are great too. We enjoy a night walk at the Newport state park on saw the moon rise over the lake on their dark sky area, enjoyed cider flights , Swedish pancakes and painting the Anderson dock . Jeremy was very responsive and attentive and made us feel welcomed. Will be back for summer family time for sure

Amazing views from an amazing place.

Porte Haven was an amazing place to stay. The master bedroom upstairs offers amazing views of the water and not to distant islands. And the kitchen and living room were great places to relax and make an amazing dinner on the premium Viking appliances. The basement offered a great place to hang with friends and play some games.

Family Christmas in February

This was our first time in Door County. Took our adult children for their present this year. The house was amazing, clean and fun!!! Pool table, darts and game table. You cannot beat the views of the water…we saw an Eagle fly by each day. We just had a wonderful time and fantastic restaurants right there. CHOP and Wickman House so awesome. Thank you!

Truly outstanding place in Door County

The Porte Haven boat house in DC is amazing. 4 levels, multiple beds and baths, two fire pits, and an outstanding view of Death's Door where the weather is clearly visible. Newport State Park is a few minutes away with great hiking. The owners make it easy to access everything you need and are amazingly available to assist if you need it. Could not be any better!

Girls Getaway

We stayed at Porte Haven early October for a girls getaway. The property is beautiful. Being right on the water the sunrise is worth getting up early for. We enjoyed spending time by the two fire pits, the all season room, the game room, large kitchen table, and living room fireplace .The owners were very easy to communicate with. I would recommend it and definitely would stay there again. It's secluded but yet close to all that Door County offers.

Amazing property with scenery and the sounds of Lake Michigan right in front of you!

We were in town for a wedding at the end of September,this property turned it into an amazing getaway! The sights and sounds of the lake are unforgettable! We had a great bonfire one of the nights,we were swimming right in front of the house while waving to the Washington island ferry boat! This is a professionally managed property! All the things needed for fun was on hand! We golfed at the peninsula golf course ,went hiking in the peninsula state park….great dinners at some really nice restaurants…..it really was a trip full of memories! Thanks for sharing your property with us Jeremy and Caitlyn! Door county is full of overwhelming fun!

Beautiful Property!

A beautiful property right on Death's Door. You are greeted with beautiful sunrises, views of the Washington Island ferries coming and going, you get to drive Jens Jensen Road daily, and you are always within 30 minutes of anywhere you want to go in Door County.
