Adorable Houseboat on the river
Come stay at this two bedroom one bath house boat located on the main river of Fort Lauderdale! Enjoy all the comforts of home but be in the unique surrounding of being on the water in a rare houseboat! Full kitchen, bath, WiFi, full cable, 2 full beds in one room, other full bed in another room. Book not an ordinary night but truly an experience loved by many!! Thereâs also a coin washer and dryer on land.
On VRBO, check in was 3p. manager clarified check in was 4p not 3p. During the night, it was loud and noisy with 2 helicopters buzzing around, loud traffic- racing engines, loud mufflers , cars honking through out the night making it very difficult to sleep. I thought I saw either a cockroach or spider prior to going to bed. Very fast, couldnât tell. In the morning, LARGE dead cockroach was noted to be face u dead by the shower. I will NEVER stay there again. It was terrible!
We booked this location for a guys weekend fishing trip to Florida. The location was top notch and being able to stay on a house boat was amazing. The owner was great and super responsive. The main living room is great. However, the rest of the boat is in major need of repairs and updating. We didnât expect 5-star accommodations, however we did expect more than we got. If updates are done, weâd definitely stay with this host and in this same property again.
Being the fourth of July, we had a great view of fireworks from the front of the boat. We had a fun time fishing. The boat was roomy enough for the 4 of us. We had a wonderful time.
For the most part everything was clean and easy to work with property manager especially with an issue during booking and ease of access was good. Those were the good aspects to this place. The down sides we faced is the plumbing. The toilet is very limited on useage which isnt mentioned in the posting and we questioned the use of the shower. Another thing that isnt mentioned in the post is that this property isnât meant for 6 adults even though it that was how it was searched. It best fits 2 adults and 4 children.
We enjoyed our stay overall. The location was very convenient for us as we were in for a wrestling event held at the Broward County Convention Center. My husband and son enjoyed fishing off of the boat in the evenings. We will be back.
We loved our stay. Sitting on the back deck watching the fish. It was very nice. Every hotel room looks the same - this was something completely different.
The boat was such a cool experience. Fishing in the river was very relaxing after a long day of volleyball for my son. It may have been a tight fit for our whole family, but it was perfect for the three of us that stayed.
This was a unique experience in a quiet neighborhood. The boat was cleanly and spacious. The communication with the property manager was superb. Will book again!!!
The houseboat was super cute and an awesome deal for the price! The boat looked exactly like it does in the pictures, so I should have noticed there isnât a lot of space to store luggage (although we did have 4 adults and some of us overpacked đââïž). No big deal, we made it work and it was still a very fun experience. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely do it again!
I could not stay due to spring break kids partying like crazy. I took videos and sent to managers no one reached out until the next day by that time I had moved to a hotel. The wild spring break kids said they were staying there all weekend. No way was I going to allow my kids to stay somewhere where people are doing drugs and drinking feet away from us. The worst part is that I still have not received a refund and now have to jump through hoops just to get one.
What a fun and quirky place to stay. Two of my sons and I travelled to Ft. Lauderdale for a volleyball tournament. One of them is an avid fisherman so we thought this would be the perfect place to stay so he could fish when we weren't playing ball. We were not disappointed!. He fished multiple times off the deck of the houseboat and caught a variety of fish. The main bedroom is very spacious with lots of storage. The kitchen is fairly tiny but adequate for light cooking. I would not recommend this place for families with small children (toddlers) because the dock is not always level with the boat when the tide is low so there's a big step down onto the boat. Also, the walkway around the boat is very narrow. The family room is also very spacious - enough seating for at least 4. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had or needs that arose. We would definitely stay there again if we are ever in Ft. Lauderdale.
Surprise little adventure that our kids absolutely loved. Cozy and efficient. Good area. Police dept two blocks away. Quarter mile down River from high end shopping area. A nice change up from
The typical hotel stat. Weâll come back for sure.
In August we stayed in Jason's houseboat for two nights. I was really excited about the idea of staying at the houseboat, but is was a bit of a deception.
We are a family of four from Holland (Europe) and we're making a trip around Florida for two weeks. The minute we had our 4 suitcases on board, there was actually no space left for us. I obviously misinterpreted the space in the houseboat. That was a pity. The houseboat is old (I think) and it was not as clean as other (VBRO) places we stayed in. Furthermore I wondered why there were only 3 towels for us, while I made the reservation for 4 people.
Checking in was really easy because of the text Jason send us a few days before.
Based on our experience I would say that the houseboat is not suiteble for a family of four (older kids). The double bed was ok, but the single beds are difficult to access and therefore most suiteble for little kids. I would not recommend the houseboat for elderly, or people with mobility difficulties. For younger couples with a limited amount of luggage, it could be a nice place to stay.
The walkway and the dock were uneven and hard to navigate. There are no railings on the outside so sitting on the "patio" was definitely out of the question. Nothing to do outside of the boat. Bathroom was not fit for 4 older women. Shower was dark and questionable if there would have been enough hot water. (We left the next morning and went to a Hotel). The toilet was difficult to manage. (Fill with water, turn on the pump until waste was gone. No TP down the toilet, put into the trash can). Concept is good if you just want to sleep there.
What a unique experience! first time on a houseboat overnight. surprising amount of space but gotta watch those stairs! Thoroughly enjoyed the stay and will be back again soon. Wonder what it would be like to live aboard full time?!
