This is an old or at least old feeling room. I paid for what is supposed to be a partial view of the canyon, but the only part we could see is the sky above it. The cleaning was done poorly, with hairs stuck to most parts of the bathroom, and in the bed. The ceiling was paper thin, and the walking of the person above us was enough to keep us up and wake us up again in the morning. Parking is poor, and it’s on a one way street that takes 6 minutes to drive the loop. Poorly thought out.

Disliked: Cleanliness
Toilet was full and plugged when we entered room. Maintenance staff was quick to respond but not a good sign. Everything else turned out to be good. Staff was excellent at check in.
This was our first time to the Grand Canyon and we were very happy with staying at the Kachina Lodge. The location was fantastic, and the price wasn't terrible for the view.
The staff is excellent and the location is unbeatable. The room is dated and small but seeing as we were 10 yards from the rim of the grand canyon, who cares! Parking is a bit of a challenge but we knew that when we made the reservation. So glad we stayed here
Check-in was at the El Tovar, not Kachina so I parked in the wrong place initially. My room "key" didn't work and took a long time to resolve and get in.
The property is in need of an upgrade, like most federal lodges. Old carpets and rooms have a distinct unpleasant smell. Staff, transport and convenience to views is the saving grace.
